His list is garbage. DT at #2 seriously? He is trying to make a point but Shipley and the DT will not be near NYC. Clausen's heisman chances are going to be decided this weekend.

Yeah but that DT Suh is awesome... complete stud. If the award was for most outstanding player, Suh deserves to be mentioned.

as soon as I clicked on that link, I heard this loud thud.....it took a few mins to realize that sound was Jacory Harris dropping like a stone out the heisman hype list...

a defender will never win the heisman. not saying that is fair, or right but defenders dont have a shot....I havent seen him play, but Tony Pike on that list seems like a joke too...

did he get those numbers playing lehigh, and colgate?

Charles Woodson would like word with you.

he was a 2-way player, also returned kicks. He is famous for the run back(kick) that he did the heisman pose on, and he is famous for the 4th down catch (against ND I believe) in the back of the endzone...both non-defensive plays.

if he was a straight up defensive player, no way he wins that heisman that year. not saying he didnt deserve it, but straight defensive players wont win the heisman, especially a lineman(dude from Neb.).

He also won a national title and was on TV every week. DT not so much.

Woodson was the first primarily defensive player to win it. While he did well at those other areas, he was known as a shut down corner, and frankly if you were dumb enough to throw at him, chances were pretty good that it didn't end well for you.

Menez's list is pretty lame. Jimmy's the only one in the right spot. I would move alot of his other picks around. Pike should be number 2, but I'm an Ohio boy and if any other team in Ohio besides the suckeyes are doing good, i'll root for'em.

list

A defensive guy could win it with character/high profile school/winning tradition/ and on field excellance/add in humility. He's an underclassman at Notre Dame. One more thing Shipley couldnt hold Tate's jock.

I remember after week one.

Some idiot Texas fan was trying to tell me that Shipley was better than Floyd.

I do have to say - Bradford comes back throws for 736 yards, breaks his leg, comes back, gets a cuncussion, shakes it off and seeing double throws 2 touchdowns with one pass and doesn't get a mention?
No, seriously, what did he throw 400+ (I didn't see him play) but that had to give hime some love. I was sursprised to see him dismissed.

Tate/Shipley

Tate/Shipley

They dont build around him and run him and use him as a decoy like Notre Dame does now that Floyd is gone. Shipley is not the athlete Tate is and certainly doesnt carry the offensive burden Tate does now that Floyd is out. Tate- if he continues this pace- had better be at the ceremony or its a complete joke.

Only if that defensive player is named Tim Tebow...

You know if Tebow wins he'll be the first to win for 2 different positions - QB - '07 ; Wildcat Fullback - '09.

I am an ND/KU fan and live in Big 12 country so I have seen Suh a lot this year, if this award were truly for most oustanding player he would get my vote, the dude dominates everybody.

I don't think so. I think that, if Tate continues at this pace, Clausen's numbers will continue to be great, and he will get the votes that might otherwise have gone to Tate.

I think Reggie Bush and Leinart were at the same ceremony, maybe twice. I think they both went the Bush push year. Maybe we win this week and Clausen and Tat both go and both return for 2010.

If they both go, neither will win. They will take votes that would have gone to the other guy.
