I cant remeber the last time jersey changes worked for ND or anyone, i remeber UGA comin out against alabama or florida (i think AL) in all black and got spanked so lesson learned hopefully

Haven't posted my opinion yet. I think we just need to come out with our normal uniforms. I just want to see them play USC in blue and gold. Not because of superstition, but because the last two times we've played them at home, we've gone green. Dark green 05 and throwback green in 07. I just want to see them in blue against USC.

I read another backstory over the summer in a book called "natural enemies, the rivalry between notre dame and michigan."

one of the biggest games ever was 1913. ND played poor in the first half and trailed. the captain (forget his name now) came in furious and said, "You're all a bunch of Irishmen and not fightin worth a lick!"

a reporter heard the tongue lashing outside the locker room. ND went on to win a close one. the headline of that paper the next day read, "fighting irish edge michigan." it started to float through campus pretty quickly and then spread like wildfire, but the university didn't make it official until the 1920s

That is what I heard too. I think its on the ND Official web-site. I'm torn on the green jersey issue. Even with the latest track record of wearing green, I think CW should leave it up to his captains.

No green jerseys! Just come out in heir normal uniforms and kick ass. It shouldn't take the color of jersey to fire up a team (and fans) for one of the biggest rivals the Irish play against!

the Jerome Bettis game......the same game that Steve Spurrier bitched that he wasnt playing a higher ranked team, and then went out and lost.

I like the idea of the green jerseys, but I dont want them to wear the green jerseys.

I'd also vote no. We aren't even ranked in the top 25. Green Jerseys should be for the BIG ones...Top 5 match ups towards end of season(in South Bend), National Title Game (wouldn't that be awesome?) ...

I'm with you on this, S-Rock. "Simple and subtle" is underrated, under appreciated and over looked.

I draw the line at small ass-cheek shamrock tattoos. Simple, yes. Subtle, yes. Stupid, definitely yes.

But that's just one pain-and-permanent-scarring-averse wimps opinion.

Hell, a simple one-two pass of air-sprayed green paint with a shamrock stencil (while the helmets are already being painted pre-game) has GOT to be less expensive than a peck of new green jerseys or name panels sewn onto blue jerseys.

Gotta keep on eye on the bottom line in these troubled economic times, don't ya think?

I think you mean the 'o2 kelly greens b/c 05 wasn't kelly green sorry to be picky but i would tolerate that much more than startng out in green
