What is your favorite football movie that is based on, or loosely based on a true story?

Rudy
Brian’s Song
Knute Rockne, All American
Remember the Titans
We Are Marshall
Invincible
Friday Night Lights (the movie)

If I left any out, vote other and give us the name.

Rudy

You should add Friday Night Lights to this poll, and make the other one the TV show.

Rudy is a good movie, but by most accounts the actual guy is kind of a turd. I'll vote for it anyway.

how can it be anything but rudy? even great stories like remember the titans were overdone with excessive triteness and corny "go get-em" moments.

Before We Are Marshall came out Rudy was the OBVIOUS choice... now it's pretty close but I still went with Rudy by a hair

I would have included the Three Stooges episode where they play college football, but I had to draw the line at movies. :eek:grin:

Canute Rock Knee Owl-a-merican. I was 6? 7? 8? We somehow knew a week in advance that the movie would be on TV late at night, way past my bedtime. My father told me he would let me stay up to watch it. My mother told my father it was ok to tell me it was ok to stay up and watch it. I looked forward to it almost more than Christmas. Never knew I could be so fascinated by a movie. Never before felt wetness in my eyes during a movie (plane crash scene). Never have seen the movie again.

I also liked Al Pacino in Any Given Sunday. Game scenes had a "real feel".

Loved Rudy. When I was younger Dad and I would go to 1 ND game a year, the movie brought back the memories of game day and all the energy on campus. The movie made me proud to be an Irish fan!!!!!!!!!!!. GO IRISH:clover:
