Anybody else excited about the NFL QB reputation ND is earning?

Quinn = 1st round
Clausen = 1st round

Crist is a 5 star pro-style stud destined for the first round as well, and we got two 4 star QB commits this class knowing that their chances of seeing the field are unlikely for a very long time.

The QB position is unequivocally the most important position on the field, and we're earning a pro-factory reputation at the position.

5 star, prep-studs, are going to be banging our door down for a scholarship to be the next Weis' protege (so long as Weis is here).

Brady Quinn is looking pretty bad, right now.

I don't think it matters what happens once they get to the NFL, so long as ND puts them in a fantastic position to succeed, and develops them into top tier NFL prospects.

That statement is a little contradictory, don't you think?

Doesn't matter how they play, as long as they're good prospects? I don't like the sound of that.

I don't understand where you're seeing a contradiction.

Weis has developed 2 elite NFL QB prospects in his system at Notre Dame (Quinn and Clausen).

He can play a huge part in their college success and development, and put them in a position for accolades and an early NFL draft selection, which he's done.

Once the player graduates to the NFL, it's a matter of that player being in a good system, with a good coaching staff that develops their career from there.

Regardless of BQ's NFL performance so far, blue-chip 5 star, prep-studs, are going to want the chance to play in the NFL period, and Weis' track record is earning ND the reputation of the place to go to make that dream come true.

And u really cant blame Brady lack of production since he has no one to throw to, no constient run game, and no constient protection plus this is like his 4 or 5 start. He will be ok once the browns give him some tools to work with. And not cry like a babby edwards

I like this but would also like some 4 to 5 star Dlineman bust down the door to get here as well!

Every day I look at my BQ signed helmet in my living room and think, eventually it will happen. If the rest of the Browns organization can pull in some talent, it will. I kind of feel for the guy right now, and really wish the Chiefs would have got him. Don't you guys think he'll succeed eventually?

I don't disagree that Weis has had good success, but to say "the place"? I mean, there is a guy out in LA who has had a few pretty good NFL prospects, as well.

No doubt...CW has already damaged his rep. Let's see how recruiting goes the next few years.

... we got two 4 star QB commits this class knowing that their chances of seeing the field are unlikely for a very long time. ...

Only one 4 Star QB.

Scout jumped Rees 41 slots from #86 to #45 but they maintained his stars at 3. Rivals bumped Rees up 2 slots from #30 to #28 and upgraded his rating from 5.6 to 5.7 maintained his Stars at 3. ESPN also has Rees at 3 Stars.

Rankings
Rivals: :s::s::s:; #28 Pro QB; Rating 5.7
Scout: :s::s::s:; #45 QB
ESPN: :s::s::s:; #39 QB, Grade 78

Rees is having a great senior season. Last week he was 31 of 6 for 352 yds and 4 TDs. The week before he threw for 526 yds and 6 TDs.

Regardless of their star rating, I don't think either he or Hendrix have conceded the starter's job.

I thought Rees was 4 star for some reason, thanks for the correction... Anyway, ESPN uses Scout's star system, they will always be identical.

I for one am a huge BQ fan, I have always loved how this guy plays the game, his arm strength, and his leadership skills. He will be a very good, if not great, NFL quaterback....once he is in a better system! The Browns suck terribly. Mangini was awful when he was here in NY, killing my Jets, now he is starting to do the same in Cleveland. The guy is a cancer, he destroys whatever he touches. My hope for Brady is that Cleveland gives up on him, trades him to a team that needs a good QB and has a strong running game already in place (Tampa, Jacksonville, St. Louis, Miami, etc.), and he ends up being a stud NFL pro for a very long time.

I couldn't agree more with your opinion on Mangina. I just don't think he's head coach material. At least the Jets don't have Herm the Worm Edwards anymore. Now that's a guy that can destroy a team.

Brady would succeed with some talent.

Braylon Edwards is the most overrated wide receiver in professional football, aside from Terrell Owens.

No, they won't. ESPN doesn't use info from Scout.com. ESPN uses info from Scouts, Inc. They are two different organizations.

Who is Scouts, Inc.? - Insider - ESPN

ESPN's rankings are a joke. Chris Martin is currently the #16 weakside defensive end.

Notice that just about every top prospect on that list is an SEC recruit.

I mean, Floyd was the #7 WR on their list.

LOL. Brady Quinn has done nothing in the NFL and was a late 1st rounder. JC hasn't even been drafted yet.

This thread is laughable.

CtF:

A little high on Rees, are we?

I see I was a bit too subtle. I was trying to needle BGIF for "... he was 31 of 6 for 352 yds ..." 31 completions on 6 attempts?!?! I agree – we GOTTA get a guy who can pull that off!

His highlight tape is a lot more impressive than that of Andrew Hendrix. I guess that's my only reason.

Sorry I busted you up on your boy Cody Hawkins from Colorado, and pretty much every other argument. I really am sorry. I'm sorry you're a constant punching bag here.

But since you bring nothing but negativity to this site, you're about to be banned. Don't say you haven't been warned multiple times...

I have done nothing wrong. Grow up. If you don't like what I write, don't read it. Your personal vendetta against me is pathetic and transparent.

I dont see why negative opinions would get you banned from the site? He didnt use foul language or attack anybody.

Hes right, Quinn HASNT done anything - yet. And Clausen is a junior in college. Id like to think that ND will become a QB factory like SC has in recent years but it isnt their just yet.
