man i dont wanna ruin the moment of his possible return but i broke my collarbone and couldnt do anything for 3 months. he will have problem lifting his arm above his head which limits catching. but mine was kinda bad bc i also injured rotator cuff and had to use the attached sling around my waist

Does anybody know how bad of a break it is? Is it a complete break or just a hairline fracture? Everything I have seen has said "apparent broken collarbone."

i found out during the game. my friend who was sitting a few sections over texted me that an usher by them told them floyd was out. I freaked out and told people by me and they were like wtf there goes the season

I think this will give rudolf the ball a lot more, I can see him turn into a huge threat. Odds are Tate will be doubled up so hopefully one of the younger guys steps up and pulls a Floyd like freshmen season!

Playing like shit? He had 1 drop. He picked up a huge first down when time was winding down to breaking 2 tackles. Playing like shit? No way. Playing to the best of his ability? No, but he is still playing at a level better than most WR's in the country

7 catches for 127 and a game winning TD on a sensational catch is playing like shit? How about on 2 seperate instances he made phenomenal plays by breaking tackles and leaving defenders with their pants around their ankles for first downs.

And how about his blocking on some of the short passes to Rudolph?

Lets go easy on Golden. I dont understand all the hate all of a sudden. He had one drop yesterday but other than that carried our receiving corps to a victory.

I hardly classify that as playing like shit.

i dont have the numbers in front of me...but he dropped at TD pass in the last game. and I think he had 3 drops in the michigan. his job is to catch the ball...the first thing that pops in my head when I hear tate is all his drops this year (and his killer downfield blocking too)

considering how the refs are boreing our asses out with penalties, and overturning TD's. Every catch is CRUCIAL, every drop is potential a game losing drop. Tate needs to tighten up his ship.

G Tate has had at least 4 to 5 passes this season that hit him in the wrong spot......right in the hands

Out for the year

Announced today that Michael Floyd is out for the year. He had surgery this morning and maybe could be back for a bowl game.

i just saw the announcement of his season ending surgery too. my initial reaction is how the team is affected, and that he shouldn't come back for the "possible bowl game" unless it's a BCS game. what makes this worse is that it could have a long term effect on his career. i'm praying that his injury prone-ness is a coincidence bc he could be the next jerry rice at the next level. hopefully shaq or duval will step up

I read somewhere that if you play less than 10 percent of that season you can get a medical redshirt. Are exceptions ever made to that rule?

yeshe is eligible to redshirt but who expects him to stay 2 moreyears

Agreed. Floyd could be in the NFL now. The idea of him being a redshirt sophomore next year is crazy. I always figured he would stay all 4 years cause he just doesnt seem like the type to leave early, but I can't imagine him staying for 5.

Dark horse, I believe, to watch for a possible coming out party...Mike Ragone

I know guys like Duval, Parris, and Shaq will get more attention with Floyd out.

That means defenses will pay more attention to Rudy and Golden, which could mean more opportunities for Mike Ragone. He's had a quiet season thus far, but this could parachute him to getting some numbers

agree completely. wouldnt surprise me to see him develop into a 3-4 catch guy a game which may not seem like much, but when we need to rely on a combo of ragone, kamara, shaq, and parris just to replace floyd, 3-4 catches is huge

It wouldnt surprise me if he left after 3. However, assuming he stays healthy all of next year, he would have only played one season start to finish. So hopefully that will make him stay for 4.

But people can forget about a medical redshirt. This guy is a top 10 pick when he is ready to go. He isnt staying for 5years.
