Remeber this hit!? I totally forgot about it. Check out how the Big 10 is crackin down...

Headlinin': Big Ten is no country for 'headhunters' - Dr. Saturday - NCAA Football - Rivals.com

I replayed that hit a couple of times. Damn Mays is big. That was a tremendous hit but it didn't look like the helmet to helmet wasn't intentional. Mays turns his body to throw a shoulder into the receiver. The receiver actually has the front top (forehead) of his helmet hit the side or temple area of Mays helmet. As the receiver goes down Mays body crashes into his teammate with a chest high, cross body block.

Jack Tatum would have buried the crown of his helmet in the receiver's face.

It's just such a nasty hit! I can't descibe it any other way. Ya know!? Mays just completely beasts into the receiver. And the fact that he takes his teammate out also is awesome.

Intentional or not, you cant hit with your helmet. Taylor MAys knows this. That hit was helmet to helmet, ignorance is no excuse. Dude should have been tossed. in the NFL you can bet that 'Hammer-Dropper' Goddell would have fined him.

I find it hard to believe that a 3 year player(at the time) wouldn't know the rules by then. or maybe he did know the rules, and knew that the 15yd penalty was worth the hit. Maybe he knew no coach on the sideline was going to discipline him.

I played organizaed football for quite a few years, my coaches would have kicked my ass if I hit someone like that.

why would a sure fire top10, maybe top5 pick (in last years draft) stay for his senior year, is it THAT good at USC???

helmet to helmet or not he went for the head. that merits the flag. Mays knows that. i like what the Big 10 is doing with a review of hits like the Taylor Mays crack above. Football is a violent game but players safety should be first. it will be interesting to see what the response will be if a player like Kurt Coleman is held out of a game for a hit that didnt draw a flag.

For all we know TMAYS could be a really down to earth guy who is sentimental toward his collegiate team and deep down wants to win a NC with the trOJans......

Bahahahahahaha!!! U$C is paying him to stay and live the life in SoCal with all the blond bitties a guy like him could ask for.
