Notre Dame's game to fear - College Football Nation - ESPN
by Brian Bennett 7/13
Bennett goes through the games on the scedule noting that USC will be a heavy favorite, UW will have Locker back and Willingham is gone, "UM and MSU games are hard fought," BC has own ND, WSU has nothing, PU is down, and Nevada could suprise but ND will be ready.
The Game To Fear?
PITT
If Stull can run through the ND DLine like McCoy, I'm concerned. But Stull is going to have his hands full with Tenuta and the ND Secondary.
PITT does have a staunch defense. One of the best ND will face but Clausen will be behind a veteran OLine and PITT's DE won't be lining up against a true freshman this year. Isn't Baldwin suspended?
ND will be well represented in the stands but ... The WEATHER?
Swirling winds, mid-November ... ND wil never be able to handle the weather conditions as they're used to that balmy weather in South Bend in mid-November. So balmy that USC has refused to play in South Bend in November since the 7th ranked Trojans were beaten by a 4-5 Joe Kuharich ND team in 50 years ago.

... I'm going to go with the Nov. 14 game at Pittsburgh. The Panthers may take a step back this year with LeSean McCoy gone. But remember that Pitt won at Notre Dame last year without starting quarterback Bill Stull.

Pittsburgh has one of the better defenses in the Big East with a strong pass rush that could bother Jimmy Clausen. The Panthers have a lot of playmakers on offense, especially receiver Jonathan Baldwin, and just needs to get competent play at quarterback.

The home-field advantage might not make that big of a difference in terms of fans, as Notre Dame should have plenty of supporters in the crowd. But the weather in Pittsburgh in mid-November could mean swirling winds at Heinz Field, and the Panthers will have had much more experience dealing with the conditions
