Don Bosco is the Power Program in NJ. ND's Ryan Grant played for The Dons as did a host of players that went to BC including Brian Toal. Don Bosco had been a veritable pipeline for BC under O'Brien. The two players that verballed this weekend to PIT, OT Brandon Sacco and DE Brian Murphy, may be signaling that Don Bosco is now open.

More bad news for BC.

And no I wouldn't trade Lombard, Martin, or Lueders for either of these guys.

Even though I hate how classless ND fans can be about BC in general, I like bad news for their football program. I'm going to cry if we lose to them again this year, and my BC friends don't even torment me about the streak

For what its worth---Brendan Beal went to Liberty High School in Bethlehem, PA- my hometown. And it was a joke that he was Gatorade Player of the Year in PA--and its also a joke that Penn State cant recruit a toddler its own state. We shall see how he pans out. I hate PSU FYI

The other reason it was a joke because he went to Roxbury High School in New Jersey for three years. He only transfered so that he could enroll early into college

Don Bosco is like a host of other Catholic School's, play in a weak public league division. There's know doubt that Don Bosco has D1 talent up and down there team. Just wish they played in a catholic league. So us here in Jersey can see how good they really can be year in and year out.

Come now onenybrother, you haven't forgotten our IrishEnvy chats of 2 or 3 years ago about the NNJIL lawsuit and such. You may remember I have more than a casual familiarity with North Jersey HS Football.

How are things in Englewood?

For those that aren't familiar with NJ football, Don Bosco is a Group IV school that's where the big boys play. Group I is for the smallest school.

Don Bosco plays in Division C of the the NNJIL, don't they onenybrother? That Division includes only Catholic schools like Bergen Catholic, St Joseph's, Paramus Catholic, Holy Angels, and Immaculate Heart right? And Holy Angels and Immaculate Heart are girls schools with no football team.

I'm bit puzzled about "Don Bosco is like a host of other Catholic School's, play in a weak public league division" as Don Bosco was ranked #1 in NJ football last year, St Joseph's was #5 in the state rankings, and Bergen Catholic who Bosco beat in the regular season and again in the state playoffs was ranked #9 in the entire state. Of the 4 schools that play football in Division C, 3 finished in the TOP 9 in the Final State Rankings.

In '08 Don Bosco's played 3 Group IV public schools in scheduled games, Montclair, Teaneck, and Ridgewood. Montclair and Ridgewood used to have some pretty fair teams as I recall. They also beat a out of conference in-state Catholic power St. Peter's Prep of Jersey City, the 8th ranked team in the state

Last year Don Bosco also played out of conference games with St Xavier, Cinncinati, De La Salle Concord CA, and Valley Forge Military Academy Wayne PA. Many of the Irish fans on this board know the St X and De La Salle programs. Bosco lost a close one to St X and beat De La Salle both games were on the road by the way. Bosco travels further to play then Rutgers does. And Don Bosco will play in Giants Stadium.
