Whenever I cook bacon, I save the bacon grease and then put it on my dogs' dry food that evening. It is so bad, that whenever I start cooking bacon, my dogs will sit just outside the kitchen, staring at me and drooling all over the place. But, then again, I am drooling all over the place too, so it is just a mess.
I will also take some of the grease from the bacon, slice some small white or red potatoes, and then cook them up in a pan. Oh boy! Hits the spot. You can also cook your chicken in just a little bit of left over bacon grease. Not exactly a health plate, but it tastes so good!
I've got a friend that cooks his popcorn in his bacon grease. I've never had it but it sounds interesting....and heart-atacky.

Dude, use bacon grease in place of butter or PAM in any cooking you do. OMFG, bacon grease is the new canola oil. Oh wait, it is not because it will give you a heart attack, but it is frickin' awesome.
BACON ROCKS!!!
I know some cardiovascular surgeons that are drooling as they read your post. They've already harvested your "cookie" for their database and have an OR scheduled for your future bypass surgery.
Considering the likelihood of Ohillary socialized medicine ... you may want to consider bacon based milkshakes now to beat the 6 year waiting list down the road.

I am a great cook and can nail anything from southern to filipino to mexican... and I am a very heath cconsicous cook as well...
BUT bacon fat MUST go in to dishes... Mexican fried rice and sotuhern style shrimp and grits...
if anyone wants a recipe I'll be glad to drop em...
I'm with ya brother. I do thin sliced potatoes, as thin as possible like chips, and coat them with a thin layer of bacon grease and a little salt, pop them in the oven until crispy. Mix up a little aoli dipping sauce and...voila!...great tailgate food.
Send me your Mexican fried rice recipe when you have a chance.
I do the same... but I use olive oil... and simply fry them up o the stove... GREAT home made potato chips...
sure thing... I'll send it later today... hopefully you have a rice cooker, much easier that way...
Funny you should say that because my wife and I were given a rice cooker for our wedding (didn't register for it) and we haven't used it once. This will be a good excuse to bust it out and make some fried rice.
Oddly enough, my cholesterol and everything else check out just fine. I love to eat, and my diet can be terrible at times, but I am in good shape. I work out hard so I can eat what I want. I do everything in moderation.
Now, these "bacon based milkshakes" you speak of...I am intrigued.
