For me...
Sitting in the student section, November 23rd, 1996 - Notre Dame vs. Rutgers, the LAST home game in the "old" stadium, before rennovations began; I was a junior so my seats began approaching the 50-yard line, which made it all the better.
Of course, the game itself was unbelievable - we won, 62-0, put an ass-whoppin' on them.
But the most memorable part, for me, was after the game - Lou came out onto the field, there was a big post-game ceremony since it was the last game in which we would see the stadium as it was when Rockne was there. Lou's words, of course, were tear-jerking, a gentle rain fell, but no one left the building that day until the band had exited the field. It was just awesome...
As for my player - I have to say Brady Quinn - something about that kid that I just love, he represents what the University is supposed to be about, carried himself with class and dignity, and was flat out an unbelievable QB for the Irish. I hope he has huge success with Cleveland next year - or, they trade him to the Jets so I can get to sim him play!!
