Bold is all guys who have started. I could have messed up, just did it quickly

Is this what you guys see? I'm curious, what will happen to McNeil, GaryGray, will Stockton play, what about Lane Clelland or Braxton Cave, will they make a play for Oline, shifting someone into Romine's spot?

I think Manti bulks up to 255 by the start of the season.

It's hard to believe that Brian Smith, Jimmy Clausen, Harrison Smith, and Armando Allen, are already going to be Juniors.

Yeah while I was typing that I started to think, most of these guys are gone after next year or 2010, what are we gonna do then? rebuild again like after Brady's senior season? I hope not. Started to get a little teary eyed.....I think that Oline could have been a lot better, felt like they had potential.....Anybody off the top of their heads know how many stars on rivals or scout those Oline had...I know Sam was 5* but I don't remember anyone else being of much significance.

I JUST CAN'T IMAGINE HARRISON BEING ANYWHERE CLOSE TO COMPETING WITH MANTI......maybe it's the hair or something, or the penalties...that kid drives me crazy.

O-Line was one of the best recruited positions on the team...which is why it's so hard to figure out why they are one of our biggest weaknesses on gameday. Young was the cream of the crop his senior year and was a solid 5 star and the #1 tackle. T-Rob, Lane Cleland, Braxton Cave, Andrew Nuss, Matt Romine, Eric Olson, Chris Stewart and Dan Wenger were all rated 4 stars by Rivals with most of them got 4 stars from Scout as well. There has been absolutely no problem with getting the O-Line recruits to come to South Bend...it's just that they play like high schoolers when they get here. I believe that the problem has been 100% coaching, not lack of talent.

I was just about to say I don't remember Floyd being as short as Tate either haha. Also, you are completely wrong right now in respect to the cb's. Today, McNeil is our best cb and has been a starter for a season and a half now. Walls has to earn pt back, and although Blanton was quite good as a freshman, it will be a battle between him and Walls because Darrin is a very good cover corner. And it will definitely be H. Smith and McCarthy at the safety positions, Sergio is just too inconsistent as of right now. Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jonah Gray push Allen for some time on the field. I have given up on Aldridge and I think we might have to use Hughes at fullback if Paskorz doesn't pan out. Even if Weis promised he wouldn't use him there.

Haha i actually think Jonas Gray is the most talented back we have but i'm too afraid to say it (until now i guess) because it sounds crazy as hell!

I think Manti comes in and starts day one at Mike. I really don't see him comming off the field, even in dime packages. Dunno Ian... maybe Stockton starts day one if his maniscus heals up. My buddy on campus told me that T-Rob has been moved to LT for spring ball... wonder who they are fast tracking at guard then. Watt maybe?

I think we see Manti playing inside with Brian Smith. His instincts will be the most helpful there. We already have plenty of speed on the outside with Harrison Smith,Kerry Neal and Darius Fleming.

Offense: I would say on O we need to get the line to play harder and more sound. It is obvious who will start most of them started last year. I think that Dane will challenge Jimmy but ultimately the job is Jimmy's. He will win it out right over and over. He is the better player. As far as tailback that is Allen's job, he will start. He is Charlies love child and will play unless he is unable to move. I think Robert or James will be moved to fullback and play in that position most of the time. The other will spell Allen and get the short yard/goal line carries.(unless Manti talks Charlie into them) Jonas will see some time on the field but unless we are dominating he will never get substantial time. At the WR position Floyd and Tate will be 1/2 and Kamera will likely be the 3 guy. Kyle will start at TE. I think that we will run primarily shotgun 3 wide formation so a fullback will not even be necessary most of the time.

Defense: My curiosities are exploding on this one. Obviously Smith, Williams, Blanton, McCarthy, and Brown will start. I would assume that Walls will fill the other corner spot. Toryan Smith and Fleming will also likely start. That is eight likely starters leaving a race in my opinion to fill the other 3 spots. One of them will surely go to Man-Zilla, I am sure starting was part of the deal and Charlie is a man of his word. So now we are to Two spots, both on the D-line Richardson and Johnson would be the front runners. Lewis-Moore will have a shot and they could always put Stockton up there and go with one safety or 3 LBS. It will be most interesting on this side of the ball in my opinion. Grey will also have a shot at the starting corner position. We will have to be better on this side of the ball and that is for sure.

We're going to be a pretty damn good team, granted the Oline improves even more with the new coach. I think we will have a pretty damn good D-line with Ethan Johnson and Ian Williams. I am not sure about the other DE

thats cuz he isnt playing against good teams when he goes in first off, and second off its against their backups.

I want Hughes to move to fullback

Anyone think there is any chance we could use Manti near the goal line just like BC used to do with Toal? Converting short yardage situations hasn't exactly been our strong point the past couple years.

You guys crack me up soo much. Manti has not even stepped on the campus and yet he is starting. I know he is a 5* recruit. I know that all the services say he is a stud. I know USC, LB U, wanted him bad. BUT, there are some pretty talented guys already on the roster who will have something to say about all this. Further, I think that there is another LB coming in who may actually be more physical than Manti.

Don't all you guys freak out at once. Carlo Calabrese has shown me a more physical nature on all his tapes. He hits people and drives them back. He plays with incredible passion. He is phyically more developed. Don't expect the rest of the team to be intimidated by Manti and just hand him the spot. Finally, if I were the rest of the LB's, I would be a bit pissed that Manti was being put on a pedistal which would drive my effort.

Do not take that I am anti-Manti because I am not, but I want to see it before I believe it.
GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like Teo can go RB as well as LB. Only short film I saw of him, I actually liked him better at RB. I think Allen is a stud and a half. Oline seems too short and heavy. Better diet dammit. Dline looks too short. I would switch them all up. lol.

Cool post chyrspchuck.
