Why would a grown man cop to making a snow angel to some recruiting website.....I want the link I call bullshit.

No bullshit. Google Manti T'eo, snow angel and two sites pop up. The first is a Scout.com article that says that his Dad did indeed make the angel but because I am a cheap bastard, the link is restricted to members only. The second, oddly enough, is this thread.

TE'O interview after the Under Armour Game

Manti Te'o, the five-star linebacker from Hawaii's Punahou High who has BYU listed as one of his favorites, will play in the Under Armour All-American Bowl tonight on ESPN along with two Utahns -- Timpview's Xavier Su'a-Filo and Cottonwood's John Martinez.

Te'o caused some consternation among BYU fans earlier in the week when he told Brian Perroni, a recruiting analyst for Rivals.com, that he may not even take an official recruiting visit to BYU because he has already been to Provo a couple times on his own.

"I've taken official visits to Notre Dame and UCLA," Te'o said. "I liked the tradition at Notre Dame. It is huge there. The facilities are very nice at UCLA and the student body is very welcoming. I really enjoyed my time there.....I'm visiting Stanford in the middle of this month and USC at the end of the month. Those are the two that are finalized. I'm not sure if I'll visit my fifth finalist, BYU, since I've been there a bunch."

The Cougars are bringing in most of their recruits this coming weekend -- mostly guys who have already committed -- so this can't be seen as good news for BYU.

But is it necessarily bad news? One source I talked to who is close to Te'o's family said nothing should be read into it and that it doesn't mean BYU has dropped off Te'o's list. It is just that making trip after trip to the mainland is difficult on Manti and his schoolwork, and he needs a break.

Te'o told Perroni that he is serious about Notre Dame, although it is a Catholic school and he's LDS.

"It doesn't really matter to me if it's a Catholic school, Jewish, Buddhist or whatever," he said. "As long as they let me be who I am, I'll be happy. I know at Notre Dame, I'd have to go to Catholic Mass. It wouldn't really be a shock to me, though, because at Punahou we have Chapel which isn't an LDS thing. It's just a Christian chapel that we attend so I wouldn't really be shell-shocked to go to Mass. I would actually go there and participate. I know who I am and I know what I believe, so it wouldn't make that big a difference."

Well, if he doesn't end up at ND, that's where I hope he ends up. I don't want him to go to USC where we will have to play him every year.

His best personal fit is probably at BYU. I want this kid at ND a lot, but it's hard to say that BYU would be "the wrong pick" for him.

USC would unquestionably be a bad pick for him though.

Can you put a link to the actual page and not the index. I started to look and then stopped after five minutes. Or just quote what he said.

I post on there too, I know one of the UH boosters, sort of follow the Warriors.

Here's one thread. He is Coach Bee.

Here's another. I'll ask him which way he is leaning.

i would probably cross jelani off that list even though he's very close to the vest on his intentions. it seems florida and now psu in the fold. i just can't see him Irish.

we have no shot with Buchanan or Jenkins. We are, at best, a 50/50 with Teo and Starling. Ironically, our best shot seems to be Moore, who was a USC verbal a week ago. Go figure.

Thanks for updating me, but I'm well aware where we are at with these guys. I am just saying to be in the running this late for some of the most special kids in the country.

Teo's dad wrote on the Hawaii message board that Notre Dame was still in the picture, why come out and say that if we don't have a chance. I believe we will get him.

Jawanza Starling is visiting one other school but is definetly interested I think we get him as well.

Jelani, I don't think we get him. It's fun to think it could happen

Buchanan, I don't think we get him. It's fun to think it could happen

Byron Moore, I think he plays at Notre Dame for sure.

That adds 2 players to a great recruiting class and puts us in the Top 10.

i was really surprised BYU didnt make the final three. thought with how much teo talked about his mission and the importance of his religion they would be in the final running for sure. just seems strange to me.

WTF??? You just casually drop that BYU was eliminated??? THIS IS HUGE NEWS! IA, don't do that to a brother! Everyone and their mother was saying BYU or maybe USC, but the news coming out lately was that ND was gaining steam over USC, and that the Stanford trip was outstanding. Now that Stanford has been dropped, and BYU is suddenly gone, this is beautiful news!

UCLA actually scares me more than USC. USC doesn't stand for morals and values, and that's obvious. I hope he realizes that and steers clear. But UCLA is a better academic school, has an exciting staff, a chance to play right away, and has signed at least one of his h.s. teammates if I'm not mistaken (correct me if I'm wrong). And their QB is a mormom Ben Olson who went on his mission and transferred from BYU shortly thereafter.

But hell, we made the official top 3. Fantastic news. Well done C-Dub, now bring him home...

for awhile i thought it was what you guys were talking about, then realized nobody posted it lol. my bad man. and yes it is beautiful news, but for some reason i am actually kind of freaked out that BYU wasnt in the final 3.

the way he said he wanted morals and how important his religion was.... idk it just seemed like, and i think LMI already stated, that BYU was the obvious choice based on those traits. it just really surprised me and hopefully he is 100% irish, but i just get a weird vibe from that. 10 more days and counting, we will all find out soon enough i guess.

I am super-shocked that he dropped BYU. HOWEVER, the reason he did makes sense. He's clearly looking to be somewhere where he can face challenges and not be coddled or protected.

He's a sharp kid...and I REALLY want to seem him suit up for us this fall.

Starling too.

Getting both of these guys would be simply amazing.

USC doesn't stand for ethics and morals? And you know enough about the institution to make such a strong claim, how?

I love Notre Dame, and feel fortunate this board exists, but a lot of comments here -- sometimes -- makes a lot of ND fans come off as ignorant zealots.
