Not sure about the sinister plans of Pete Caroll, but the visit was instigated by Moore (i.e. he called the staff, not the other way around). I suppose this could all be an elaborate ruse, but it seems to me Pete has more to lose than just one recruit by involving a recruit in that type of game

The Barkley rumor was started by an ND poster on the Scout boards just to rile SC fans up, there was never anything to it, Weis isn't that dumb

Exactly. Moore heard good things about ND from Shaq and Cierre and wanted to check it out for himself. ND threw everything they had at him but it appears to not be enough

After this week's game, I really don't blame him. It's too bad. I would have loved to poach one of the poodle's prized recruits...although I'd much rather steal one of Urban Liar's kids after he jacked Trattou and Hunter from us. Or maybe we could take one of Butch Davis' recruits to get him back for Little. That would be sweet.

On rivals he has a visit listed for 01/30/09 to USC, so I think there might still be some doubt in his mind if he is visiting that late in the process. I don't think he comes but who knows. really?! very nice, didnt even notice that he was visiting that late in the game. hope he comes in and really gets to see what ND has to offer him. kinda strange, i thought that the visit for the syracuse game was his official, unless this is just an unofficial visit. thanks for the update though.

Looks like it is down too us and LSU. LSU has the #1 safety Craig Loston already committed. Plus hear is a quote about us being in the lead from DD "Yeah, I went ahead and decommitted today," said Moore. "I just felt USC wasn't the place I wanted to be and I want to look at some other options out of state. Right now it's pretty much Notre dame and LSU, with Notre Dame in the lead. I'll probably take a trip down to LSU next week."

That would be so huge, but i feel better about Moore than i do Starling at this point. ND really does need a second safety recruit in this class since we've only had a total of 2 in the last two classes (Smith and D. McCarthy). I hope K. McCarthy gets a 5th year granted to let the kids develop another year.
