Vero Beach's Motta verbally commits to play football at Notre Dame : Top Sport Stories : TCPalm

Okay, what's up with the "16th and final commitment for Notre Dame"????? i know i dont trust the site because they can't even spell Charlie Weis... so im almost positive this is false and we are still taking more kids, i just need some reassurance.

The "final commitment" line also raised my eyebrows. But I think that the writer was just saying that he was the last player to commit to ND to this point. I don't think they meant to imply that this was going to be the final commitment for this class.

It's just a crappy journalist. ND will take about 5-7 more players this year.

I agree that its probably justy bad journalism but there is NO WAy ND takes 5-7 more this year... We are in play for Jenkins, Teo, Starling, Kasa, Evans, Custis, Bonds, Telfort and Nixon. No way we get 5-7 out of that group.

My quess is 3 ish- Evans, a Dl and a LB

not really sure why we didn't rush the passer yesterday. it seems on 3rd and 18 you might want to create havoc instead of sitting back and allowing a 3rd string QB to get a first down. his uniform was still clean after the game, sad. what do i know though.

Thats all there is to say. I'm not saying "Fire" Corwin or Tenuta but come on.... I'm so not impressed with these guys at all, Especially Tenuta!!!!! WTF??? Tenuta while at Georgia Tech consistently had qb's pissing their pants.....Whats the change all a sudden? 4 sacks through 6 games??? I remember he sacked us 8 times in one game. I'm just not seeing any improvement or pressure if you will.

i think zeke will bring some fire to the Irish d. looking at his rivals film he seems to have great technique and just overall solid instincts. i can imagine him packing a punch on any defender, QB or otherwise. also, having him as an early enrollee i look for him to contribute early and often next season. he WILL play his way onto the field. these guys won't be able to keep him on the sidelines.

Wow three and a half years since anyone posted on zeke. Does he have a fifth yr available. Need him or slaughter next year at a safety spot.

Nope. thank Weis for that one.

Anyway the kid has played really well the past two weeks, for all you Motta haters out there. I love how physical he is.

Even if Slaughter and Motta are gone next year, Farley is gaining valuable experiencing, plus we return everyone of our Corners.

I admit, I was in full hate mode watching him against Navy. I love the way he's bounced back the last two games. He's been laying the wood on people.

I was not impressed with Motta his whole career including what I saw in the Navy game this year. HOWEVER I will say I have been pleasantly surprised by his play the last two weeks versus Purdue and Michigan State. Good job Zeke!

I am with ya...Shumate will be a starter and that leaves one DB spot left with some heavy competition! btw are you feeling a 6th year for Slaughter?

don't know if he will want to and don't know if the ncaa will pass it.

I'm thinking Shumate and Farley start next year. with Collinsworth and another safety in the rotation.

Motta was rough last year but he has stepped up big time this year. Big props to him for taking control of the DB's in our defense.

Zeke has looked slow and out of position for much of his career until the past few games. He obviously isn't much faster, so I'm guessing game experience has helped. He has been in the right spots, and laid some monster hits. I'm becoming a fan.

It's all about sound fundamentals and sticking to your assignments. This D is for real. Injuries and all. I'm very excited to see them continue to grow and dominate.

Totally agree...

He has unexpectedly developed as quite a leader on the field.

Nice to see Zeke playing at a higher level.

I'll admit that I have been a big time Motta hater in the past, but I'm ecstatic to say that he has proven me wrong. He's emerged as the leader of the secondary and an invaluable part of this defense.

I echo what y'all have said above me-- dude's become a legit player for the Irish this year. Didn't think it would happen at this point in his career, but low and behold, it has. Really glad to see it happen!
