Some interesting lax things that have been crossing my feed this week:
1. Seems like the heat is really turning up on SMU adding lacrosse, at least partially due to an agreement with the ACC to no longer have the bare minimum of sports required. This would be really great both in terms of opening up lacrosse in the state of Texas, but it would also give the ACC an autobid in the tournament. It doesn't *really* change much given how good the ACC is, but given the way we schedule an autobid would be perfect for teams like 2022 when things bounce the wrong way sometimes.
2. Saw another rumor (less common and not necessarily true) that BC is on the verge of adding lax in the next couple years. Maybe it happens, maybe it doesn't, but it would be nice if more ACC schools joined the fun.
3. The NCAA is officially sponsoring women's flag football in two years (?); some people seem to think this would be a good opportunity for a few west coast teams to add men's lax teams to keep Title IX compliant.
Not sure how realistic these things are besides SMU, but it would be great to see the sport grow and add new footprints.
