game tied at half and irish coach told sideline reporter that defense has to play better and that he wasn't happy with them giving up three set piece goals

Why is it 5 on 5 if JH had 2 penalties to our 1?
Sorry lacrosse newb here

Nevermind, guess the JH has to stay out longer than our guy.

Absolutely perfect day- 75°, not a cloud in site, and a lovely crowd of ~10k fans.

So great to see Yago and Jeffrey playing some of their best ball in the tournament. We know Syracuse doesn’t quite have the d-mid depth to stifle us; really hoping we keep the fireworks going next week.

Defense dialed in for the second half- though I’d be lying if I said Ricciardelli didn’t worry me a little bit against Cuse. This week we continued to deploy some extra d-mids and show off just how deep this team is. It was a shame the field was in such poor shape; there was so much to enjoy outside of it! ☘️

Watching with sound off thanks to Quint Kessenich. The absolute worst.
The lacrosse commentariat does an active disservice to the growth of the sport. Kessenich and Carcaterra are desperate to convince viewers that they're watching SEC football-caliber athletes instead of just highlighting the game itself.

They also embrace a lot of the bro tendencies that give the sport a bad name,

One thing wrestling and lacrosse fans agree on... Kessenich sucks. He also does matside reporting/interviews during the NCAA wrestling tournament and he's horrible.

I actually don’t mind Carc and Schroff so much. Quint is unnecessarily argumentative and annoying. On top of just saying weird shit. He is very knowledgeable but has a strange delivery.
Gotta be more to the story with Lars Tiffany. Guys done a great job everywhere he’s been, from Stony Brook to Brown to UVA. Curious to see what starts to leak out.

A few folks on X suggesting Mark Millon (father of Virginia’s two best players) got in the ear of some prominent alumns and was angling for them to get rid of Tiffany and promote Kevin Cassese the current offensive coordinator.

Normally I’d dismiss this, but Cassese gave up a 15 year head coaching gig at Lehigh to be Virginia’s OC the same year McCabe Millon enrolled. That whole thing just seemed odd and has me wondering if this has legs.

Some interesting lax things that have been crossing my feed this week:
1. Seems like the heat is really turning up on SMU adding lacrosse, at least partially due to an agreement with the ACC to no longer have the bare minimum of sports required. This would be really great both in terms of opening up lacrosse in the state of Texas, but it would also give the ACC an autobid in the tournament. It doesn't *really* change much given how good the ACC is, but given the way we schedule an autobid would be perfect for teams like 2022 when things bounce the wrong way sometimes.

2. Saw another rumor (less common and not necessarily true) that BC is on the verge of adding lax in the next couple years. Maybe it happens, maybe it doesn't, but it would be nice if more ACC schools joined the fun.

3. The NCAA is officially sponsoring women's flag football in two years (?); some people seem to think this would be a good opportunity for a few west coast teams to add men's lax teams to keep Title IX compliant.

Not sure how realistic these things are besides SMU, but it would be great to see the sport grow and add new footprints.
