I’m not up to speed here, what injury is he coming off of?

Is there a real concern he won’t get back to 100%?
I think there has been a little cageynous (if thats a word) about what his actual injury and surgery truly was. It was reported as knee clean up relating to his patella tendon. But a torn patella at worst case scenario can be a year recovery. The nature of the injury was also kinda secretive at OSU which also made it kind of weird. Everything reported by the beat has been that he should be ready by summer.

I'm speculating based on available info but "Cleanup" refers to debridement, he likely had some patellar tendinopathy (essentially loose collagen fibers that didn't heal right) from overuse that results in persistent pain. It should not affect functional ability long term

He does come off like and ass in that video. That said, just watched his tape for the first time — I’ll be shocked if he is not starting by week 3.

Yeah I don't know the medical terminology but this tracks or should at least be in the ballpark. What I heard was that they had to "clean out" his knee because it was locking up and giving him chronic pain. Don't know if that was cartilage, scar tissue, meniscus, etc. but personally I always get skeptical when there is opaque reporting around joint injuries. We will certainly know by fall camp what we've got.

Sounds like what my left knee needs. Beer league softball at 34 ain’t the same as it used to be

Yep, I'm not familiar with the mechanism of the orignal injury. If there was no acute injury, it likely is "jumper's knee" and pretty benign. A worse possibility would be if he suffered a partial meniscal tear and it was a debridement of that, would typically require longer recovery on the order of months, not weeks.

Yeah, he literally just joked around with his teammates. Pretty standard stuff for an injured player. I guess if a kid isn't reciting the Nicene Creed on the sidelines, some of these dorks label him a diva and an ass.

Agreed, just young men talking smack to each other. It's great for team bonding and brotherhood.

He didn’t say “god” 15 times in 20 seconds, not an RKG.
