Judkins is no slouch, either
Also a rookie. For sure!

My wife is a BGSU alum and I've seen a lot of Fannin. He's a good kid and a good ball player. To be that productive as a rookie with that franchise is a testament to both Fannin and Judkins.

I'm actually stunned that the whole Watson deal was overseen by Paul DePodesta. Curious to see how he does with the Rockies now.

I‘m expecting him to sign Wander Franco

I wouldn't say zero.

72 catches for 731 yards, 6 TDs, 13 GS. 21 year old rookie. Browns rookie reception record. Was as good of a tight end as there was in America but played for Bowling Green so nobody cared.

Loveland had similar numbers for Chicago with Caleb Williams on a Division Champion. This dude has been too anonymous for as good as he is because he's been stuck in Ohio his whole life.

Judkins is no slouch, either

Maybe not zero, but it might as well be. Not a lot of proven talent. They have a couple young guys, but gone are the days of a healthy Chubb giving DCs fits, gone are the dominating OLs that helped keep Cleveland afloat. Njoku can't stay healthy. They effectively have no QB, and therefore they don't have anyone that can get their WRs the ball consistently (OL goes with that too as the QB is getting pressured).

Bottom line: it's a no win situation for any OC. They're effectively going to have to build something from the bottom up with slam dunk picks over the next few years because they're still paying for the Watson cancer and they've got no foundation.

Picked up what you put down from the get go. I'm just a Fannin fan out of bias. I don't think he's a TE you build your offense around, but he's a great piece to have.

He's definitely a rookie that has stepped up. He's a star in the making and could become a centerpiece, I hope he sticks and continues to build.

People still have TDS (Tommy derangement syndrome) on here?

When Rees was hired at ND, they said it was because he was BK's guy
When Rees was stolen by Alabama, people said he was failing upwards
When he was then hired to the NFL, #reasons
Now he's being interviewed for a head coaching job and you guys are still on your schtick.

It's amazing how wrong people can be, but instead of acknowledgement, they double down with the certainty that with enough time, they'll be proven correct.

Look at his coaching trajectory, it's been amazing how much he's been able to dup everyone but the eagle-eyed posters on da message boardz.
Well said.

I was pro Tommy until he ditched us late in the cycle sticking us with War Daddy and ruining what could've been a great season.
Now I pretend he went to Michigan.

I’m in the minority but I didn’t mind War Daddy’s offense. Not his fault he had no P5 wide receivers.

Can't believe players and coaches hate fans

If you are serious, you sound like a scorned ex. How much did this dude give of himself as a player and coach to the university you love? He didn't leave until the GREATEST COLLEGE COACH ever came calling.

He's not a good coach. Alabama's offense dropped off drastically when he took over in 2023. He turned a bad Browns offense into one of the bottom 3 in the NFL.

The whole Bryce Young and Jahmyr Gibbs thing might have played a factor

That’s what I’m saying. He needs to be a G5 OC. God for him though.

Y’all are weird

What has he done to show that he's a good coach? i didnt even say he was terrible, or even bad. Just that he is not a good coach.

Left out in my brief comment above: Notre Dame offense in 2022 Rees' last year: 31.8 ppg (42nd) 397 ypg (60th) vs 2023 After Rees leaves 39.2 ppg (7th) and 432.2 ypg (29th).

I guess the Kevin Stefanski and Atlanta falcons didn’t counsel our IE board. He’s obviously got skill or wouldn’t be getting the OC job.

You know there were players on those offenses too, yeah? How much did we hear about a lack of "execution" from that team?

Who where the quarterbacks in 2022? Who was the QB in 2023? Dude won 10 9 games with Buchner and Pyne.

I’m just waiting for Rees’ skill to show up on the field. He obviously has an incredible agent and interviews very well. I don’t think it’s unfair to say he has failed upwards since getting the OC spot at Notre Dame.
Yup, that's why Nick Saban hired him. He was duped by an agent and was blown away by how 'well spoken' he was.

How you do not consider winning 8 games with Drew Pyne at QB in 2022 a "skill" showing up on the field

Drew Pyne

2022*Notre DameIndSOQB1116425464.62021228.762.48.08.6312.3183.7155.3

He was 8-2 in 2022 (he barely played against Marshall) and basically had one target

That says more about Marcus Freeman as a HC and the defense. Marcus Freeman won 8 games in 2022, despite being limited by Rees’ offense.

Do you think it was his ability to develop quarterbacks?

Jalen Milroe is a terrible quarterback. Under Rees, be completes 66% of his passes and had 23 touchdowns to 6 INTs. After Rees, he completed 64% of his passes and had 16 touchdowns to 11 INTs. Their offense was humming in SEC play despite a bunch of JAGs all over their skill positions.
