All joking aside, one has to think if it truly hits tO$U like that, and Texas apparently as well, then it’ll hit everyone eventually,…

I just don’t know how it’s going to be sustainable for ANY SCHOOL. Look how the numbers have supposedly increased in only a couple years. It seemed like a million ish bucks was top dollar for Hartman a few years ago, now you talking for and 5 times that for mid QBs. You’ve got several players per roster making that alone.

At some point you would think rich guys would tire of throwing money at 20 year olds so their alma mater can win like nine games instead of seven, and the market will stabilize. But who knows. There's a lot of rich guys.

It's only a matter of time until the power players in the sport (the blue bloods) push back and get the rules to bend back in their favor, so the lower end teams can't just pilage their rosters.
Spot on. If the OSUs of the world kept their roster year over year and got to grab the best players from the MAC, this stays as is forever. Once the established, top programs see their business models threatened, I think you’re going to see folks like Saban / Alabama look for ways to “save” the sport. Something like a super league along the lines of what European soccer teams tried.

Hope I’m wrong.

Oh this is my favorite cynical/tinfoil hat theory: The SEC has seen their advantage (willing to pay players when most other people weren't aka, cheating) taken away so they will push hard for new rules that everyone must follow so they can then..... cheat at the new rules to win again.

Cam Coleman is going to Texas as well to pair with Wingo at WR and now they have a Raleek Brown/Hollywood Smothers combo in the backfield😳😳! That offense is going to be potent if that OL is even halfway decent.

Yeah, the OL part is really important. Because this was basically the read on Texas before last year started.

Yep, it took a while for that OL to gel but they were devoid of any resemblance of a running game with Manning being their top running threat. Baxter did another disappearing act and just looks vastly overrated at this point as well as injury prone, so they significantly upgraded that RB room.

Texas making "big boy" moves. Let a really good player in Parker Linvingstone walk and inserted Cam Coleman in his place. Not a Sark man, but that's a heck of a move.

Ironically I think Arch is underrated right now. He played a lot better when the line gelled at the end of the year and he wasn’t running for his life

Despite the stats, I was impressed seeing him live against Georgia. Super quick release.

Arch was a screen merchant. Sark put the bumpers back on the offense is when Arch got “better”

Would explain why Porter isn’t going to Michigan

That's a really good get for Michigan to build around at the WR position. They desperately need to upgrade that room to give their talented young QB the passing game weapons he needs. I wonder if that takes them out of the Quincy Porter pursuit? One would think.

Yep, pretty simple logic with these schools such as IU, Texas and Texas Tech. All of those schools value production OVER potential in the portal and it's paying huge dividends.

It's paying dividends for IU. The other schools, we'll see.
