These dudes are super impressionable and not willing to lose the bird in the hand. I'm guessing every time they are made an offer these POS agents get involved and make us promise to beat the offer or they're not visiting. Right now it appears ND is saying fuck you to that theory. Personally I feel like if they had first crack it would pay off better for us to allow the kids to see the big picture. When were second to the table we lose that chance.
MF has been clear that he is building a team with a specific culture, and if you're looking solely at ND for the money, you're not going to be a great fit.

You can come here and you'll get taken care of, but if the only thing that determines your choice is the number with the dollar sign, they're probably going to pass. Nothing that has happened says there has been a shift in that mindset.

Yeah, okay, but that's a little too pious imo. They have leverage here, we need the players and want to win a title.

In terms of the process, we should do what? Demand they visit ND first? Or just negotiate without them visiting at all?

It's not piety. If they think bringing in a guy who is only in it for the one year payoff is going to be a problem, they are wise to look elsewhere. That's especially true when you're talking about guys with late day 2 upside. That's a lot of potential headache for modest potential reward.

I'm not usually someone to worry but this has been worrisome.

It's like a few years ago with Bowden not scheduling official visits on the last weekend of June and ND lost a ton of recruits.

It's a miscalculation and the only way to learn from it is the hard way, but I worry that it will be a painful lesson.

Woofffff regarding the Ian Strong news. Boundary receivers must be really allergic to ND right now. Otherwise, ND is just trying to low ball everyone until someone signs.

I'm nowhere near panic mode, but this is not a good look. Unless the staff has some serious things cooking behind the scenes, it doesn't look like the offense is set to get much in the way of help... There has been a pretty significant loss of talent on that side of the ball this off season thag isn't replaceable strictly by counting on freshmen.

I suspect they'll get what theh need in defense, but it doesn't look like they had much of an offensice Portal plan at all. I guess we'll wait and see.

Is missing Ian Strong really that big of a catastrophe to you all? No one on this board had heard of him prior to a week ago. Maybe they won't get another Malachi Fields, but they made the natty with Beaux Collins at the boundary.

I don't know why receivers would be allergic to ND, given our QB. Maybe the idea that ND was going to go on a spending spree was just fan hopium. I guess ND is back to being cheap?

We need a commitment to shut some of you guys up.
I think it's a reasonable take to be pretty confused about offensive recruiting, where we needed a couple key impact players and it doesn't like we're in it right now for any of them (at least publically).

Defensively there still isn't much to worry about, with most of thr key pieces still on thr board.

Not a catastrophe, but they're consistently missing on targets.

I’m officially in “there’s something going on behind the scenes” mode. Are schools using “Freeman is gone to the NFL” philosophy since more jobs are opening? Day to the NFL, Freeman to OSU? Either way, Freeman has gone radio silent aside from one tweet, and it seems as though it may have cost us in the portal too.
