to be fair, they have ads to sell tomorrow and “this is over and it’s obvious how the committee’s going to break” is terrible marketing and making as many people angry as possible is great marketing.

Here's the logic pretzel for the committee:
-If you move BYU down, then you would have to also move down Bama to be consistent especially since you said on air this week that ND and Bama were "basically tied"
-If you don't move Bama down then you can't move down BYU, which means ND stays ahead of Miami

So for ND to get left out... which is still totally possible... the committee would have to get extremely crazy. Could happen for sure, because of corruption, but we'll see. Certainly better situation than when we started the day.

They would just flip ND and Miami and do nothing else. Not likely but certainly possible. Would be odd but after last week idk

I don’t think it’s that complicated. You move both down 0 spots (Bama in), 1 spot (Bama in) or both down 2 spots (Bama out)

No chance ND gets left out.

What should happen: ND and Miami both in. Dogshit Bama out.

What will happen: ND and Bama swap positions. Preserve buffer against Miami.

This outcome will really test the "don't punish for losing a CCG" precedent. Last year's CCGs were all very close. This one wasn't close at all. If you don't dock Bama for a loss like this, do the games even matter? If you don't, why play them?

If they don't matter at all, the rankings should be set before they are played, and the CCGs only determine auto-bids.

Not to mention, losing teams were 11-1, then 11-2 last year. Not the case now.
