I think the additional money that came in via the expanded playoffs was supposed to offset the loss of the redundant CCGs but instead the conferences said we can have our cake and eat it. The cost of that should absolutely be that the outcome (neg/pos) of the CCGs need to be taken into account.
If Bama is left out they will argue they should have sat out the CCG which is really a case for getting rid of the CCGs. The committees position should be have them if you want but we are factoring them in.
