Wait. You think Miami should be ahead of us?
If Notre Dame was not involved, I would say yes. I believe ND is definitely one of the 12 best teams in the country and would love to see them in. I argued against the “eye test” for years and think the on field results should mean something. I’m not going to argue either way. Committees are a silly way to settle sports but that’s where we are. End of the day, fuck Miami, Go Irish!

The problem is that has never been the rule that is actually applied, see, e.g., 1993. Head-to-head is treated as relevant but not dispositive.

Ouch. LSU and Washington with interceptions in the endzone. Need to take advantage of your opportunities for an upset.

Yup. Not because I want them to, not because I dont think we are better. But same record, right next to each other in the rankings, and they beat us.

Hopefully oregon or oklahoma loses, but this year is just not giving us the breaks we need.

In all serious I think we win and we're in, but playing after midnight after all these coaches get to win and give their speech into the camera and have commentators suck them off... doesn't help.
Thankfully that hasn’t budged the committee to date.. they are clearly enamored with us & Miami beat Pitt in the same fashion we did.

They also beat Stanford 42-7 so we’re going to have to win convincingly..

The Van Buren kid on LSU is horrific.. Oklahoma is going to pull away so thats no help.

Maybe the Huskies can knock Oregon off..

I don’t know.. just kill Stanford.. it feels like the committee wants to put us in.

I agree but it probably should be. It’s the first tie breaker in almost every scenario in sports. We got fucked in ‘93.

Just thinking about when I was getting crucified for even the mere suggestion ND might not make it.
Nothing has changed lol.

You've posted our odds dropping all week and then they shot all the way back up once Michigan lost.

The CFP committee like ND better than Miami, our lone worst case scenario is still BYU. This really isn't that complicated.

Right, but 1993 happened and that's all that matters. No reason to apply a rule to screw us now when it wasn't applied in the past to benefit us.

Am I the only one that is "over it" with the playoff debates? I would love to be in, but I am exhausted at this point.
I think it makes it fun for the fans. I get it if you are exhausted, but there are many who love it. Granted, I will only love it if the Irish are in where they definitely belong.

Agreed. Even though we are sitting in a pretty good place, we don't really control our own destiny. If one or two things happen next week, we are out regardless of what happens against Stanford. So let's control what we can: go out and throttle Stanford and make Love's best case for a Heisman in the process.

There were some folks who said it wasn't bad that OU beat Bama. OU would've been eliminated right then and there.
We live in a system where -- because the SEC only plays 8 conference games -- we are set up to have 5+ SEC teams "in the conversation" ... the SEC is incredibly mid but they put Oklahoma over us even with their anemic offense because of circular logic 'good wins'

Frankly, the entire system is inequitable to everyone outside of that conference and the G5 charity cases.

Pretty much where I’ve been for awhile. Hate this part of college football

Correct. If they're in, they'll have a legit chance to win it all. If they're out, it'll be a travesty and ill bitch about forever, win win

I think it’s trending towards ND and Miami both being in, barring a BYU or Alabama upset next week

Because you're an insufferable doom monger who is subconsciously willing ND missing the playoffs into existence so you can take victory laps in here with your "receipts." Save your constant bedwetting for your therapist.
