Is that even certain that Miami won't pass up ND? I'm not certain of that.

I'm pretty certain without getting into the ACC conference championship they're stuck behind us. I guess the committee could be playing games for drama but they've been pretty clear that they prefer us over Miami and went out of their way to say last week that they directly compared us and we are considered the better team.

Anyways… the Irish are getting in so don’t be sweating it out in here. Just take care of what you control and the rest will work itself out. I gotta head out to the Plains and hope for none of that Jordan-Hare voodoo. I’ll boo the duece for y’all.

You have strong faith sir.

If they keep on against Pitt they well and truly could. Got to hope Virginia get beat by Virginia Tech which I think will mean Miami can win the ACC.
The most likely scenario for them is they need WF to beat Duke and VT to beat UVA.

I’m not certain either, but it’s unlikely. If they do pass us then we absolutely need Bama, Oklahoma, or Oregon to be upset or we are out of the playoffs. We really only need Oklahoma to struggle and win ugly, that’ll give the committee the ammo the need to drop them out instead.

The difference with Miami is they know how much they need to win by. So they won't be putting in the 2nd and 3rd stringers, which could end up hurting us.

At worst it's the same. You forgot how much we dominated them really quick obviously
I didn't forget....but I'm also not such a homer I cant acknowledge that Miami is doing the same...if not more...closer to the end of the season when they need to flip spots.

The late timeout and TD against our backups took us out of the committee’s “blow out range” which is 24+ points. At that point, it doesn’t matter the score. Idk if that will matter if Miami gets it to “blow out range”

The other passibility is that Miami moves to 10 ahead of Bama and the committee puts Alabama in a “win a SEC championship game or bust” situation.

True but it doesn’t matter to the media. They’ll simply look at score differential. Whether the committee is swayed by that remains to be seen but they have to be hearing the drum beat by ESPN et al regarding H2H. If H2H is the tiebreaker between Miami & ND, this is the week it could come into play. My hope is they have put separation between the two schools for a reason. Like others said, they’ve basically told us that ND is the better team so I would hope it doesn’t come down to one common opponent b/c both teams handled Pitt easily in their place. Splitting hair beyond that makes no sense.

Given how this weekend has gone and will likely finish, I have an idea how that SEC Championship will go.

Like I said unless the committee has been lying what Miami does today is not going to change things materially

Well then, Pitt won't be the only game if the case... Look at the Syracuse score and then the Irish need to beat the pants off Stanford tonight.

I was out for a bit and just got back. So we’re out of the playoffs?

What's interesting is the odds on Fanduel are -3000 for ND and +128 for Miami. If our fate was truly tied to Miami it would be a lot more affected. And I think it's largely because Miami's metrics are still going to look consistently worse than ours after today, just like they did on Tuesday when Dinich showed them.
