Per Eric Thomas of II, ND moved the needle with Sales and is competing for the lead rather than fighting for a spot at the podium.

Loy said differently. Likes ND. Needs to see more of the passing game. Believes he ends up at Bama

''Irish sources believe they had a positive visit with him, but in no way do they believe they are out in front as his leader. He likes Notre Dame a lot, but needs to continue seeing more from the passing game. Are the Irish in his Top 5? Yes. Are they his leader? No. My best guess today is that Alabama eventually lands him."

Honestly better than where we stood a few weeks ago, just gotta keep chipping away.

This is the only time in my life I'll ever have inside info, State Penn making a serious run at DeBoer and he is more than listening.

To be fair, I don't think there are any Penn State fans on TV telling them that they hope they win the lottery so the first thing they can do with the winnings is fire you

Yeah my gif isn't meant to say Bluehen is wrong, just to express my incredulity at the idea of Penn State taking Bama's coach during a playoff run. If that happened it would be Armageddon for college football pundits.

This is from a friend of someone in the athletics office. Granted I would not be surprised if their inflated perspective of their place in college football made this all wildly inaccurate.

I still don't think DeBoer truly fits at Bama regardless of how well they're doing this year.

The fact that Sales is originally from Alabama and also has a good deal of family still living there will be a hurdle.

Top 12 is pointless no one ever "really" considers more than 5-6 schools.

If I were a 5-star and had just started my junior year of high school, I'd probably be considering about twelve schools. If I was a 2- or 3-star, I might be considering a lot more.

In real life, I was fortunate to be recruited as a student, and I was considering a hell of a lot more than twelve.

Maybe as a Student but most kids have an idea where they want to go as Seniors and definitely aren't considering 12 schools, it's a few regionals sprinkled with a couple of dreams schools but ultimately what fits your major or career path, but of course you need to be qualified. As a 4 star athlete, I was happy to take a few visits but in no way was I ever "seriously" considering more than 5-6 schools at ONE TIME. Kids really like to have these large list for clout and follows from fans, I've seen kids list schools they had no intention of even visiting let alone attending. He's listing 12 but I'd wager anything he's realistically only considering half of those schools. As a matter of fact just watch how quick the list goes from 12 to 5 then to 3.😁

It's always an opportunity to fail when you follow a legend. Fans expect you to be a carbon copy of your predecessor not only in wins, but personality and how you interact with everyone. John Wooden/Gene Bartow, Bear Bryant/ Ray Perkins, Bob Knight/Mike Davis, Bo Schembechler/Gary Moeller.

This is why PSU thinks they can steal him away.
