Additions To The Team

I am excited to share with the board that we are expecting a new addition to the IrishAlum family, sometime in late-September/early-October. We were waiting until my wife's 1st OB visit to share the news with the world, and that visit was today.

But in a LOST-style twist, I can now report that we are looking forward to our new ADDITIONS to the family, as she found out today she is carrying twins! Shock and disbelief are the feelings of the hour, of course, combined with joy and feelings of good fortune. We are simply praying for health and safe travels to the outside world for Little Domers 3 and 4, and welcome your thoughts and prayers as well.

In the immortal words of Chief Brody: "We're gonna need a bigger boat."

HAHAHAHA. My son's name is Hunter. The name Quinn is on the table at this time, boy or girl, although probably a middle name. The ND connection is certainly a hope for me when it comes to names.

If you every worry about whether you can make it with twins, check out John and Kate plus 8. it's on one of those cable chanels. they have twins and sextuplets. helps my wife keep things in perspective when our two non-twins get to be a handful.

Wow, congratulations! I hope you have family nearby to help with those night feedings. I always thought it would be cool to have twins, then we had our first kid. I didn't want them any more. But God bless you and yours!

Closest family is in South Carolina. We're in Texas. We are already booking plane tickets to set up the family rotation through feedings and early wake-up calls so the wife (and me) don't lose our sanity. With a 6 and a 4 year old as well, we are going to need every bit of help we can get!

Congrats IrishAlum.....Congrats IrishAlum......I am a Gemini and I always thought I might have twins although I do have 4 sorry to say no twins. My wife says that my 14 year old son and I act like twins........just 30 yrs apart.

I certainly hope all of these rugrats keep me behaving like a 14 year old. I never thought I would have to take the OVER on the number of kids I have vs. the fewest number of wins a Notre Dame football team has in a season in my lifetime. Crikey.

Camper, so now that you're engaged, has the family started asking about kids yet?

my wife and i dated for a while. throughout the time we dated, everyone asked when were getting married. then, as soon as we were married, they asked when we were having kids. after the first kid, they asked about the next one. sheesh peeps, give us a break!

Today is birthday #32 for yours truly. I am amazed at all that I have been provided, a supportive and loving wife, 2 amazing kids, and 2 more on the way. I just got done watching the 'Idol Gives Back' show, and realize how fortunate folks like us really have it. I don't know if I have any tears left in my tear ducts. I hope in this new year that not only can I have continued health and happiness in my family, but I can learn how to give more of my time and money to help those less fortunate than I, and hopefully teach my kids the value of giving as well.

UPDATE...

We are looking forward to our next ultrasound on the 27th, the one where we expect to discover the sex of these 2 rascals.

Brady is the leading name (wife-approved, by the way) if one of these buggers is a boy.

Can't wait.

Whatever flavors you get you will be as great as you were with the first 2, I am sure.

i have 3 girls and when we had the 2nd one we weren't sure we would try for a third one (read : try for a boy). Next thing you know, #3 is on the way and presto- 3 girls. I cannot imagine what life would have been like- and I don't care, wouldn't change it for the world.
