I'm not sure there are better TE's in 09, Golic is pretty highly regarded and made second team all offense at the AAA combine. He was the only TE other then USC's Mosely to make any combine team.

Plus with Yeatman acting up and Reuland transferring why not offer Golic I saw film and he seems like a player. He's one of those kids offer and within 0.1 sec he says I'm coming to Notre Dame.

Well we already know that Charlie likes to go by bloodlines and he has already taken his brother, etc. I don't see how ND wouldn't offer him if he is as good as reported.

I think Yeatman will be back but with the Reuland transfer we may just go for 2 after all. That would really cement Jake getting an offer because even if he isn't the number one target in terms of skill (and it is possible he will be, who knows) he is a relative lock and is a player.

I think the issue would be with taking 4 in 2 years. You're pretty much guaranteeing that someone will transfer as a result of being mired on the depth chart. The #4 TE isn't going to see the field much except if needed for blocking and probably will never get an opportunity to catch the ball. And that's probably going to be the case even if they move to using double TE as a base formation. However if they did want to take 2 in this class, Golic would be an obvious offer as a guy who's probably going to commit to the program as a whole and not just to get on the field to play football.

If you don't play an incoming TE at all in his first year then he most likely would be granted a 5th year of eligibility anyway. I think our coaches will bring in two.

WWB, I think Goshen had mentioned earlier he thought the same would occur, but Jakes school admin guys were on vacation, so the paperwork might take some time to complete. So it might still be true, just delayed.
