Our QB is just fine, so many overreactions on Grubbs...
I would continue to evaluate QBSs. But let's say he is Ian Book level (not the scrambler but a better thrower), is that enough to win it all with the surrounding talent?

I think it’s an impossible comparison since they are nothing alike. Grubbs mold really can’t be comp’d from recent ND QBs very easily. Yes, think they could win it all with idk a less mobile Kizer or better Jack Coan is maybe the closest you could get in comparison.

Yea I was just saying if they were both like a 88 overall on NCAA 26 lol

Yeah the 88 overall version of Grubbs would rip it. Can definitely win with that. I don’t see Grubbs ever being a mediocre or bad starter at ND. He would either hit his ceiling or never see a start. Probably goes with not being mobile, you’re not getting a high floor, low ceiling guy.

Jack Coan gets a lot of flak, but he did very well in his one year, despite having an absolute mess at the OL and frankly, middling WR talent. Kevin Austin was the #1 receiver and he was...just pretty good. Crazy to think going into that offseason, Lorenzo Styles was seen as the #1 receiver...

What was more egregious to Buchner: his qb coach f’in his motion up or the wrs he went to Columbus with?

Probably the former, as I don't think Buchner ever fully recovered to become the player he had the potential to be.

And while it was brief, Buchner had some good talent at Alabama to throw to in Bond and Burton and he looked absolutely lost in his start against USF.

It's everything.

Missing a year in hs to injury
Missing a year to covid
Changing his throwing motion
Missing a second year to injury

We saw his potential, I get why Rees loved him but it all added up.

He could have been what Riley Leonard was, he could have been better. But life didn't work out that way. It's unfortunate but it happens. At least he's getting his degree and he still helped the team in the bowl game and last year on special teams.

My guess is when Buchner gets back under center at Notre Dame stadium, the crowd goes wild. We may only see this in garbage time if we’re lucky, but I will be cheering. Sometimes we make mistakes in life, but there should always be a path back home.

Curious why we didn't offer Gavin Sidwar the QB for LA Salle College same HS as O'brien. Final Junior Season Stats (11 games) 220 - 318 (69%) 2,747 yds, 31 TDS, 6 Ints. 3-year starter. ***Single season record holder: Completion percentage 69%, Completions 220, Pass Yardage 2,747.

That horse is dead. Time to move on.
- Young man makes a poor decision by leaving his team
- His allowed back on team but as a walk on at different position
- He wants back on the team so bad, he swallows his pride and goes to help his team
- Player ultimately moves back to his original position room
- Young man finally gets under center in garbage time and the crowd goes wild

Your right, nobody likes a comeback story anyway.

Imo when the talking heads keep talking about something that is totally off the radar, it means that they know something but aren't allowed to say. It may just be that they know Grubbs isn't all that... But Bell's name keeps coming up for no reason whatsoever.
