That’s why I find it laughable that the Harris campaign folks think it was the lack of time that did them in. For the love of god they wheeled out Dick Cheney on the campaign trail. Just a seriously shit for brains campaign strategy

The shift to neoliberalism and the embrace of right wing, trickle down economics beginning in the 70’s along with decades of institutional racism in the specific case of African Americans and Native Americans would be my answer.

All of those same things you stated above could be said of the European ethnic minorities (Italians, Irish, etc…) before the New Deal and post WWII reforms many of which African Americans were not allowed to fully benefit from.

Also, “minorities” across the bored don’t check all those boxes you laid out. Case in point, Asians typically outperform all other ethnicities in test scores.

It is also interesting that as the US has become more ethnically diverse, overall crime has dropped significantly.

I also don’t think it’s a coincidence that upward mobility stalled out and began to decline for lower and middle income white Americans in the US as the economic policies mentioned above were embraced.
