School boards are fucking lazy. Not sure why we would have ever moved away from that standard.

It's part of why I got out of teaching. As well as too many parents dictating curriculum when they have no idea what they're talking about
Interesting.Quite a few.

-The made pre-K literacy a priority by directing more funding into those programs. Many preschoolers in Mississippi are already K level literate.
-You're automatically held back and forced to repeat the 3rd grade if you don't hit certain reading benchmarks. So that also naturally helps boost some 4th grade scores.
-Increased funding and training for teachers. A lot of the training and practices stem from federally funded/researched pedagogy best practices
-More recently they've completely changed how they fund schools in the state. They have made some pretty drastic funding increase initiatives to school districts in lower income areas to make up for the lack of a tax base there. They've also done a great job funding special needs programs.
Ding ding ding. It's part of why I got out of teaching. As well as too many parents dictating curriculum when they have no idea what they're talking about
I've read a bit on the Waldorf stuff. Seems like a method best suited for very specific instances where the school can rely heavily on parental support. I don't think on an individual basis it's bad..but just doesn't seem like something that is scalable or would work well across broad economic and social demographics. The grade school my kid went to taught using the Waldorf method
That was my experience. So I agree.I've read a bit on the Waldorf stuff. Seems like a method best suited for very specific instances where the school can rely heavily on parental support. Whenever I hear "Waldorf" I think of apple salad or the MuppetsMany of the parents that gravitated to the school however thought “Waldorf” meant that the school was some sort of hippie free for all. That was annoying and largely counterproductive.
I think of the “winter spiral” which involved kindergarteners walking around with large candles in close proximity to each other. Shit was terrifying. Lol.Whenever I hear "Waldorf" I think of apple salad or the Muppets
You're silly and dishonest, and the fact you can't admit that Biden most definitely encouraged and incentivized the invasion of millions of illegal aliens into the US proves the first part of my statement.I see, presenting clear evidence of the fact that US citizens have been deported with no due process is “not using facts” and supporting an administration that violates the constitutional rights of citizens and then blatantly lies about it is being on the “right side”.
Bishop posting “facts”
Honestly, part of me calling your intellect into question is that I think it’s kind of funny seeing you post these ridiculous Yosemite Sam inspired rants in response. I guess that makes me a bit petty and I’ll have find a way to live with that.
It's like the lawfare of the Biden administration didn't happen and lawlessness at the border never happened. You're silly and dishonest, and the fact you can't admit that Biden most definitely encouraged and incentivized the invasion of millions of illegal aliens into the US proves the first part of my statement.

I don't excuse the violation of constitutional rights of anyone. I just don't believe they are being violated. Non-Citizens do not have a right to stall out and flood our legal system with appeals and excessive review. If you are found to in violation of the law and a non-citizen, you should be promptly deported. Biden keeps coming up because the hypocrisy from those who buried their head in the sand for the last term and are outraged now is insane.I see.
What Biden did or did not do is a separate issue from the issue that was being discussed i.e. this administration clearly violating the constitutional rights of US citizens. You and Drayer seem to be ok with that. I think it’s terrible and that using what Biden did or did not do as an excuse and a justification is pathetic.
Now as to dishonesty, ad hominem attacks aside what you are doing and consistently do in these forums is deflecting by presenting a whataboutism. So there you have it.
Not believing something when presented with clear cut evidence is a good example of cognitive dissonance.I don't excuse the violation of constitutional rights of anyone. TDS it has their brains all warped from reality and they insist it's us insteadNot believing something when presented with clear cut evidence is a good example of cognitive dissonance.
Here’s a fun fact that might make you feel better…I did not vote for Biden.
I never voted for the guy in the primaries. I wanted Desantis. I wanted someone else in 16 and really again in 20. I think he makes several unforced errors, although his 24 campaign was night and day better than previous two. I just don't think he's a tyrant worth stirring up violence and violating the constitutional rights of US Citizens.TDS it has their brains all warped from reality and they insist it's us instead
Facts don't care about your feelings.I just don't believe they are being violated
Ahh yes cause desantis is even better. Use funds illegally to campaign against ballot initiatives as well as threaten public media companies from airing ballot initiative ads for things he didn't like.I never voted for the guy in the primaries. Lol whatever. You can hate Republicans all you want. He would be much better than Trump.Ahh yes cause desantis is even better. Use funds illegally to campaign against ballot initiatives as well as threaten public media companies from airing ballot initiative ads for things he didn't like.
I don't hate Republicans just some of them that do shit they shouldn't be doing.Lol whatever. You can hate Republicans all you want. He would be much better than Trump.
I rarely use FB, then only to promote a company post.We need more of our older generation to be like old man Mike and not these ones living perpetually on Facebook and Twitter
You’re posting says otherwise.I don't hate Republicans just some of them that do shit they shouldn't be doing.
Hard to find reliable news sources these days.I can agree with that depending on if you're following actual news sources. But he never posts legitimate sources. It's from known Russian propagandists over half the time
I hate Trump and Trump supporters, that's not hard to understandYou’re posting says otherwise.
Hate is a pretty strong word. I’ve never voted for Trump and have always said I don’t like how he talks. I don’t like what he’s doing with the economy, but I do like what he’s trying to do with most everything else.I hate Trump and Trump supporters, that's not hard to understand
About the only thing I like from Trump and I've said it before is some of his deregulation stuff. Other than there's nothing I'm a fan of.Hate is a pretty strong word. I’ve never voted for Trump and have always said I don’t like how he talks. I don’t like what he’s doing with the economy, but I do like what he’s trying to do with most everything else.
BTW, I voted Dem until Regan. I ve been on both sides of the fence.
If there were no federal Dept of Ed, the states could still produce their own scores/ metrics/ data whenever they want to. The states don't need the feds for that. With all that being said, it's still a very good thing that our historically worst states are improving. This will probably be one of the last times we can get these numbers tho. Will be curious to see where the states are at after the department of education is gone. Texas is already notorious for having their bad test takers not present on test days to help boost these scores. I imagine we'll see a lot more of that
That's exactly my point, we wouldn't have anything standardized to compare from state to state. If there were no federal Dept of Ed, the states could still produce their own scores/ metrics/ data whenever they want to. The states don't need the feds for that.
That’s how you end up with Alabama claiming 37 national championships. If there were no federal Dept of Ed, the states could still produce their own scores/ metrics/ data whenever they want to. The states don't need the feds for that.
