Interesting.

The grade school my kid went to taught using the Waldorf method (has some pros and cons) so they didn’t even attempt to teach reading until second grade if I’m remembering correctly and focused more on social skill development.

We did however read to him every day and once he did start learning to read it took off like a rocket. Was interesting and makes sense from a child development standpoint.

I've read a bit on the Waldorf stuff. Seems like a method best suited for very specific instances where the school can rely heavily on parental support. I don't think on an individual basis it's bad..but just doesn't seem like something that is scalable or would work well across broad economic and social demographics.

That was my experience. So I agree.

Definitely had to embrace the stages of early childhood development concepts at the core of that approach and be pretty hands on which meant things like drastically limiting screen time in favor of say free play and gasp…boredom. Luckily my wife and I had jobs that allowed for us to both be pretty hands on when we needed to be.

Many of the parents that gravitated to the school however thought “Waldorf” meant that the school was some sort of hippie free for all. That was annoying and largely counterproductive.

You're silly and dishonest, and the fact you can't admit that Biden most definitely encouraged and incentivized the invasion of millions of illegal aliens into the US proves the first part of my statement.

I see.

What Biden did or did not do is a separate issue from the issue that was being discussed i.e. this administration clearly violating the constitutional rights of US citizens. You and Drayer seem to be ok with that. I think it’s terrible and that using what Biden did or did not do as an excuse and a justification is pathetic.

Now as to dishonesty, ad hominem attacks aside what you are doing and consistently do in these forums is deflecting by presenting a whataboutism. So there you have it.

I don't excuse the violation of constitutional rights of anyone. I just don't believe they are being violated. Non-Citizens do not have a right to stall out and flood our legal system with appeals and excessive review. If you are found to in violation of the law and a non-citizen, you should be promptly deported. Biden keeps coming up because the hypocrisy from those who buried their head in the sand for the last term and are outraged now is insane.

I never voted for the guy in the primaries. I wanted Desantis. I wanted someone else in 16 and really again in 20. I think he makes several unforced errors, although his 24 campaign was night and day better than previous two. I just don't think he's a tyrant worth stirring up violence and violating the constitutional rights of US Citizens.

Ahh yes cause desantis is even better. Use funds illegally to campaign against ballot initiatives as well as threaten public media companies from airing ballot initiative ads for things he didn't like.

Hate is a pretty strong word. I’ve never voted for Trump and have always said I don’t like how he talks. I don’t like what he’s doing with the economy, but I do like what he’s trying to do with most everything else.

BTW, I voted Dem until Regan. I ve been on both sides of the fence.

About the only thing I like from Trump and I've said it before is some of his deregulation stuff. Other than there's nothing I'm a fan of.

If there were no federal Dept of Ed, the states could still produce their own scores/ metrics/ data whenever they want to. The states don't need the feds for that.

That's exactly my point, we wouldn't have anything standardized to compare from state to state.
