This was sloppy but I don't get the moving heaven and earth stuff. I get that democrats are desperate for anything now and maybe you are too but hasn't it been acknowledged that the chat itself stated that all classified information would be handled on another secure chat?
Again, amateur hour but this is being overblown to sensationalist levels. If someone needs to be fired, then so be it.

And who cares if china and Russia know about the basics of the Houthi situation? They already know what's happening.
Our entire war plan against Iran was leaked on purpose to the newspapers about a year ago, which as an Ally to those two, is far more damaging.
I just personally don’t want to live under an administration that got caught with their pants down, and then their first move was to try and discredit and villainize the journalist THEY happened to incorrectly let in to their group chat that possibly had highly classified military and CIA information on it. It just all seems gross, and the incompetence is staggering.
It’s an embarrassment, and I’d be saying the same thing regardless of who is in the White House.

They have been very boisterous for the past 24 hours that Goldberg is lying, and the American people deserve to know the truth…that is exactly why the Democratic Party should do anything and everything (within legal allowance) to make this signal chat public.

That's silly.

That's not going to happen.
It's not "silly". It's what should occur.

I never said it was going to happen. I said it's what should happen.

"Egg on their face and be embarrassed"? Trump and his admin are shameless ass clowns. The CIA director today couldn't even admit that what happened was a huge mistake.

Also how often is this happening? We only happen to know this instance because they were stupid enough to accidentally include a journalist.

It's very silly to suggest everyone in the chat should be fired, yes. I don't care what they admit or don't admit. If they wanna be dweebs and not own it, that's their business. That's the norm across the political spectrum.

Frankly, it's probably good that it happened. Huge fuckup that didn't end up costing anything, but got exposed and I'm sure all involved are very embarrassed. I wouldn't be shocked if Waltz gets canned as a sacrificial lamb.

Seeing as the DNI and CIA Director just admitted under oath today that they weren't even aware it was against DoD policy to have even 'controlled unclassified information' on unsecured devices....I'd bet the answer to "how often this is happening?" is "A fucking lot"

When I worked for DoD I wouldn't have thought much about discussing unclassified info with my boss via text, regardless of what policies are in place. At least i don't think so anyway. Been a minute since I was there.

No. It's not.

Doubtful. These people are all morons, have no shame...and frankly are ghouls
Yes. It is.

And lmao, they aren't morons. All of them are objectively bright people. But boomers are notoriously bad at technology. Hopefully they learned their lesson

But boomers
This is idiotic.

Hegseth, Vance, Miller, and Gabbard are categorically NOT "Boomers."

On top of all of this..if "Boomers" are bad with technology, it's even MORE of a reason to keep these idiots off of apps like Signal. It's not an excuse for them to be using it in the first place.

Yes it is.

No they are not.

Boomers, in this context, just means older people who aren't tech savvy. The only one I would expect to be tech savvy is Vance. Maybe Miller.

You seem to think I endorse them doing this. I agree 100% they shouldn't. But heads aren't going to roll over this. Nor should they. People do dumb shit at work all the time that goes against the handbook or official/unofficial policy.

If they do it again, I'd want some people canned.

I had a friend who used to add random people to group chats when he was drunk. Hegseth must be cut from the same cloth after his 8 am vodka sodas.

They aren't "older people". The list of people I just gave you...none are older than 44 years old....and even if you want to play this (dumb) angle..if these people are bad with tech... It's even MORE of a reason to keep these idiots off of apps like Signal. It's not an excuse for them to be using it in the first place.

Congratulations on being an idiot.

This isn't Tom not signing for the extra copy paper he took. This is cabinet-level officials in the United States government discussing war plans on an unsecured messaging application after accidentally adding an unknown party. Some were on their private phones...some were in Russia....it's very possible they broke somewhere around 5-6 laws and violated multiple DoD policies in doing so. Multiple ex-military have come out publicly today and said that had they done this, they would have been fired. Warner even said it at the hearing.

Minimizing this to equal someone sending an email that gets caught by the profanity filter is moronic.

Age has nothing to do with this. This technology has been around long enough that your version of who is a boomer has been using it for a while. Someone simply typed in the wrong name and didn’t catch it.

Same old shit. From what I've heard on the news, they are dumbasses. You going to tell me that a CMA is an allowable transference of this type of info? Pisses me off. New regime same as the old. Brushing it off is not the answer.
