Before and after the scUM game I said tOSU is the best team in the country,… this game is still surprising but doesn’t impact my thought one way or the other. They’re the only team I absolutely wanted no part of coming into the thing before seeding and all. I was hoping Oregon or Tennessee would knock them off but,… yikes

Those two teams played a game prior to that one, so I wouldn't blame it on the rust.

They played bowl games 11 days prior to the NCG. They weren't rusty, Oregon couldn't stop the Zeke Express. That dude was on another planet at the end of 2014.

It's been like this seemingly for all of these games. Slow starts from the BYE teams.

Boise got clocked and fell behind 17-0 early against Penn State and never really recovered.

ASU fell behind 17-3 early against Texas, but fought back.

Oregon had far and away the worst opponent to come out slow against. You can beat Ohio State, but you cannot let them get going early, because that doomed Tennessee the same way. Also helps that Oregon's defense is seven shades of shit.
