I trust the defense way more than I do the offense. That Linebackers are playing insane.

Take ND.Spread opened -14
I think I'd be more worried if we had struggled with Georgia Tech's running game yesterday, but we really didn't. I'm sure it'll be an annoying game, especially in the first half, but if we avoid stupid and costly mistakes (yesterday's pick was stupid but not costly) we should be fine. Not sure how to think about this game Navy hasn’t played anyone
Our rivalries are arranged marriages. Other rivalries are blood wars.Despise these games with the service academies. Should be off the schedule by now I don't care about the history here. They do us no good. Just win and try to stay healthy don't even care what the score ends up
Ironic you say they do us no good as Navy is currently ranked and a win would absolutely help Notre Dames resume lolDespise these games with the service academies. So if Navy ends with one loss and that loss is to ND the narrative will still be they weren’t that good? It's rare that playing them helps our SOS argument.
Even this year, we will end up not getting credit. If we win the narrative will be that we were supposed to and that they weren't really that good. If we lose the narrative will be that we aren't good but still shouldn't lose to them.
It's a no-win game every year.
Just win and hope nobody gets injured.
What would their best win be if they lose to ND? Media will hype up Navy & Army before they play ND as they should b/c they’ve had fantastic seasons thus far. If ND beats them, you won’t hear the media mention them again. So if Navy ends with one loss and that loss is to ND the narrative will still be they weren’t that good?
You mean the national media that currently has navy in the top 25? Give it up, ND will always play navy brotherNobody in the national media is going to ever admit that one of the service academies is very good unless it somehow helps the major conference that said media company is in bed with.
They will compliment them, to a point. But they will never treat them like a legit contender.
That’s what I’m afraid of. Beat them and they’ll say Navy was overrated. It's rare that playing them helps our SOS argument.

But they're not *very* good, and they're not a "legit contender" for anything beyond a conference title. They're G5 good, and even then only kinda. How many guys on either Army or Navy would start at a top 10-15 program? God bless 'em. They "chose hard" a lot harder than our guys. But they're not the kinds of athletes you see on elite college football teams.Nobody in the national media is going to ever admit that one of the service academies is very good unless it somehow helps the major conference that said media company is in bed with.

I like that we play Navy. Always have. I'm annoyed that we play Navy AND Army both in the span of a month.I guess I’ll just have to agree to disagree with you guys. Playing Navy every year is important to the history and tradition of Notre Dame and it’s typically a game I’m glad ND plays .It does indeed help this year that it will end up being a quality win
I just wish the game would rotate between South Bend and Annapolis. Annapolis is a great little town if you haven’t been.I like that we play Navy. Always have. I'm annoyed that we play Navy AND Army both in the span of a month.
I realize Miami left us in the lurch and we needed a last-second date for that weekend's dance, I just wish it were a team that would actually help the perception of our strength of schedule.

Never been but I went to a game at West Point once and it was fun. Would rather do that occasionally than these sterile NFL stadiums we're always playing them in.I just wish the game would rotate between South Bend and Annapolis. Annapolis is a great little town if you haven’t been.

I don't think so... Irish defense seems to keep on churning.Too high IMO
The average SEC team plays multiple top 10 teams. All I know is that if we had to play Alabama's schedule, we'd have no chance at making the Playoff this yearIf SEC teams continue to play two FCS cupcakes every year, we can keep Navy on the schedule without it being detrimental to our playoff chances.

We'd be the underdog on a neutral field against Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, LSU, and even A&MWe've beaten the team currently #1 in the SEC right now.
Tell me who Texas's best win is if they win out against their current schedule? An A&M team that ND beat in their own house?
How about LSU up to this point? A three-point win against against an Ole Miss team that's beaten nobody? And if LSU beats Bama, how impressive is that victory if the Crimson Tide finish 8-4?
Who has A&M beaten that impresses you? An overrated Mizzou team that had no business sniffing the Top 10?
The SEC gets extra credit for beating "top 10 teams" because of the circle jerk presented by that conference's alleged "strength of conference" BS that's built on paper tigers. The conference is Georgia (because of Kirby) and Bama (because of Saban prior to his retirement). The middle of the SEC is no better than the middle of the Big 10.
You mean against non-MAC teams? This Notre Dame team plays different away from home. More relaxed. Besides a few plays yesterday, they didn't even look to be in a serious mood. It's a weird team to follow this season.
