People called Saban a scumbag and people think the same about Kirby. As long as Urban would win and the program didn't have to deal with sanctions or a Penn State/Baylor type scandal, I'm good.
Yeah I definitely am coming around to this viewpoint. I mean Urban does seem to always be thinking about us and saying things about what Notre Dame should or shouldn’t do

Exactly, and you can add Harbaugh and Belichick to that list. Honestly, it's hard to think of an all time coach that didn't have a little edge to them. It's usually something the players respect if it's authentic. Urban is authentically a prick so it works. He's the only person that would bring hope to a program that needs it after a 35 year drought.

I've been on the Meyer train since day 1, don't care I'm a whore for a title. Say what you want!
I do wonder if a 4th straight HC that leaves ND without a title makes the decision makers desperate enough to make that call. I still think the most likely next ND HC is an offensive minded HC coaching at a P4 school elsewhere....but desperation is an extremely powerful emotion.....

All I'm saying is Urban Meyer...without a doubt in my mind, in this climate, would 100% win a Natty. And I don't give a flying (🤫) how big of a dirtball he is, or what he's done. I've given up every Sat of every Fall for the last 35 years, I've spent a bajillion dollars and I've wasted years talking and typing about them. I may even take sanction for Christ sake....I WANT A NATTY, AND I WANT IT SOON!

Not to say Denbrock's play calling was perfect, but doesn't DMC call the RB rotation?

Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
Yes I believe you are correct that DMC does call the RB rotation. But, I was not questioning the RB rotation in this game, I was questioning why two of our best players on offense only ran the ball 15 times combined. Now that’s on Denbrock, run the damn ball. Those two RBs should combine to run 25-30 times a game combined.

Jesus didn't die to keep us from sinning. He died for the forgiveness of our sins past, present, and future....
In other words, if we do not sin, are we not failing to honour the sacrifice of Gods own son?

Yeah this.

Every season I watch ND football and then turn to the evening games where it looks like teams are almost playing a different sport.

We consistently have no legitimate downfield passing. That’s not unique to this season. If we fall behind by 10-20 pts early, I have WAY less confidence in this team (again, not just this season) to come back than, say, OSU/Bama/Washington/Texas/any other team that can throw the ball.

We will not have any chance of winning a championship until we figure out the above, especially now that we’re locked into 4 playoff games each year.

Leonard is an easy scapegoat. He played like ass and cannot throw the ball. But the problem extends far past Riley.

Yes sir. This post is 100% correct.

Except neither has the baggage that Meyer does. Don't get me wrong, I think he could fix things instantly, but he has more than a carry-on. He has the full set of American Tourister.

We’ve already reached the “Seriously considering Urban Meyer” stage of grief.

The dude would have a heart attack before he made it to game three.

And can you imagine the memes if he loses a heartbreaker in an all-in year and gets caught eating a Home Run Inn pizza on a golf cart?

The school would have to shut down because of the internet ridicule.

Does anyone else recall Freeman in preseason press conferences use the word explosive when describing our offense?

this is either absurd incompetence or the dumbest coach speak I’ve heard yet.

Leonard is on his last leg after 6 quarters of football. He will likely get injured this week and be done.

Denbrock has nothing to work with here. until we have a qb is rinse and repeat another 30 years.

I would have a two week plan to get Carr ready to play. Ride him no matter what and have a returning starting qb for the first time in 6 years.

The stuff that spills out on here after a loss. Madon.

But, this is a message board, so where better to machine gun gallons of mangina secretions about football into the bandwidth.

Yeah, Urban Meyer. No fucking way. May as well schedule Deion's interview right after. Next thread.
First thing I noticed was not just the NIU postgame thread, but Freeman's, Denbrocks, Leonard's and Angeli's got bumped in addition to four or five new threads discussing the same stuff.

Hasn't Urban made it clear he doesn't want to come here? I don't think he would, anyway, even if he wanted to coach again.

If this were a loss by 3 to Georgia in the playoff, this might be a different discussion. There would be evidence that we're moving in the right direction, even if we lost to a better team.

Losing to a NIU as a 28 point favorite in year 3 is among the worst (the worst?) losses in program history. People are responding rationally to an all-time disaster. Find a coach who does not lose games at home as a 28 point favorite. (Most coaches don't.)

For the love of God, please stop wasting your time talking about Urban Meyer. There is ZEROOOOOOOOO chance that he will ever come to ND. Maybe our time would be better served talking about the possibility of going on an all donut diet will lead to massive weight loss.

Maybe we should do that. The program needs a little humility, I think. Reading its reviews for a week after A&M didn't help.
At this point I’m just in the depressed phase.. I still can’t believe we dropped this game. It doesn’t seem real.

Not sure what the program needs anymore. We’re never going to be a football factory like Georgia, Bama, Ohio St.. Accepting that is clearly tough for us lol
