Being a part of the VC is really nice, I like it. It was about time I was able to give some money to this site after reading it every singe day for the past year, the least I could do.
As for Kapron, I have high hopes for this kid and I feel that he will make a great addition to this year's unbelievable class.

A&M just accepted an offer from another DE that many considerd to be the plan B option for KLM, and they also just sent out another offer to another player in the same mold. It looks like it's going to come down to ND and Kansas.

OK not to be a jerk but I will never understand this I am a fan of both teams crap! My best friend is a FSU and OSU fan...how? How can you be a true ND fan and be happy if a top OL recruit goes to Kansas your other team...

I agree, when it comes to sports you either have a "team" or you don't!!! My girlfriend's dad is the worst college football fan of all time, he'll switch to whatever Michigan team is doing well and claims "I'm just a fan of good sports, I don't understand why you like ND so much".
It's not about football entirely, to me it's tradition, it's something that can't be explained....
the feeling I get when that first football saturday comes and the Irish run out of the tunnel, the goose bumps I get just can't be explained. Sorry about the rant, it's been not such a great Wednesday morning.

I am an Irish catholic kid born and raised 25 minutes from Lawrence, my earliest memories are of watching KU and Notre Dame. I am an Irish Kansan, and I love both, and I really don't need to explain it to anyone, but I have loved both since I have known what sports are, they don't play each other regularly in anything, and often don't compete for recruits. The "bad" fans are the ones who jump on bandwagons of teams when they are doing well like the Michigan/Michigan St. guy you named, thats even worse--They are RIVALS!! If anything I am a glutton for punishment, I love the IRish the Jayhawks, the Chiefs, and the Royals.

I know what you mean about watching the IRish run out of the tunnel, I get the same feeling watching KU's hoops team run out into allen fieldhouse. If you have never been to a basketball game at KU you are missing something, just like if you have never been to a football game in South Bend. I am lucky enough to have witnessed both, along w/ the Jayhawks playing football in Memorial Stadium, I really want to come up and watch the Irish hoop it up in the Joyce Center asap. I support both teams in everything they do, sorry about my rant, I have just recently caught a lot of crap about this b/c the Irish were down and the Jayhawks were way up.
I will just tell you that Kansas will not remain at the top of college football. They had a great season and may have another really good year in 2008, but expect them to fall back to mediocre status soon. They are similar to Rutgers. Everyone said that they were going to be a year in year out power. They started to slip in 2007 and now with Ray Rice leaving, they will be back to complete mediocre status in 2008. These teams cannot recruit with the top programs year after year. They get a good set of talent once every 10 years.

I know how you feel. I grew up catholic in the state of North Carolina and the first football games I ever remember watching were ND games and many of my friends were fans of ND football. But in NC when it comes to basketball you have very few choices of who you can root for, either UNC, Duke, or NC State (back in the 80's when NC St had Jimmy Valvano as their coach and they were good.) I chose UNC so my favorite teams are ND in football and UNC in basketball. Only difference I guess is I don't root for UNC in football and I don't really pull for ND in basketball.

Kapron now thinks that he'll cancell his visit to Kansas and try to decide on a school as soon as possible.
He said he is really stressed out but that he'd still like to decide by the end of the week if he could.

I think it is my friend. KLM is our best bet, I've been saying it for a while now!!! He will be a great addition and another talented DE/OLB to add to the roster. Great pass rushing skills but he needs to fill out a bit. Big time upside.

A&M lost one of their DEs because he could not be an EE, so that opend things back up for KLM after it really looked like A&M had screwed this one up. It's seems like this will be the same kind of deal as the Kenny Page situation. If he can get over leaving home ND looks like the likely destination, if he can't, and I'm hearing that distance is a big issue here, then he'll most likely end back up at A&M.
