This guys has a good frame and could put a bit more onto it as well. I think he needs to work on his speed a little bit, and his motor. It seems like some plays he kind of half-asses it until somebody comes his way.

He does have some good moves off the line though, he just needs to maintain that aggressiveness, which I sure can be coached into him. he has a good nose for the ball though.

He reminded me a little of Ben Martin. Slower, but with the ability to carry more weight. Im not sure I see him projecting as a great 3-4 OLB. Doesnt seem to have that burst to get to the QB. I thought if he put on 60 pounds he might be a good DE but that seems a little too far fetched on my part.

Yeah, I'm really surprised the staff offered him already. It seems you would send the offers to the guys at the top of the heap first, and then send offers to these decent/good recruits after you get a better feel of your realistic (or unrealistic) chances with the best of the best.

Maybe our coaches see something in this kid that they can make better than what the people evaluating him now see.

ND was the second school to offer Lewis-Moore. Since the ND offer, this once under the radar DE has become a national recruit with 9 additional offers, (none from Texas though) and interest from the Poodle and the Cockwad. Lewis-Moore plans on making an official visit to ND, and says that the Irish will definitely be in the mix when he makes his final decision. Lewis-Moore is another top priority for the new defensive scheme, and is receiving a lot of attention from the ND recruiting staff. He seems to indicate that he would prefer to stay closer to home, but it also appears that if he decides to leave his home region that Notre Dame has a better shot of recruiting him than any schools outside of Texas or Oklahoma.

Michigan has now offered Lewis-Moore to give him his 12th scholarship offer. Interest from the Poodle & the Cockwad seems to be waning, as there is no talk of an imminent offer from the unholy ones. Texas still has not and most likely will not offer either. Sounds like Michigan only offered because ND did.

Lewis-Moore has only been to Texas A&M to visit. He hopes to do all 5 of his Official Visits in the fall, but does not seem too sure about where, although he has frequently expressed interest in taking a visit to South Bend. I would be surprised if Lewis-Moore makes a decision before December. It remains unlikely that he will leave the state of Texas for college, (specifically A&M) but ND has positioned themselves well with this kid, and if he does decide to leave the Lone Star state, ND seems to have an edge over all of the non-Texas competition.

News from Kapron Lewis-Moore remains positive for the Irish. Although he is considering making Official Visits to ND, Wisconsin, & Minnesota, the only one of the three schools that he is definitely going to visit is ND. This is a continuing signal that the Irish still have the best shot at recruiting Lewis-Moore if he leaves the Texas/Oklahoma area. Being able to actually get him to come to campus may be a great benefit in that regard as Lewis-Moore seems to be very fond of the ND coaching staff for recognizing his ability early on. He also appears to have no interest at all in the Michigan offer that he picked up late in March.

make room for him

I don't mean that in an asshole way, but for someone like him, yeah, you make room, you don't turn a 4 star DE away from the football factory state of Texas

Exactly!! How many guys actually leave the State of Texas or if they do they are not that far away. Especially a DE.

agreed you make room for top talent!especially MARCUS FORTSON

No offense to KLM, but if we make room for top DL talent, we're going to have to cut top RB talent, or top WR talent, or top OL talent, etc. It'd be one thing if we're looking at plan B guys at the other positions left to be filled on our recruiting board, but we'd be sacrificing plan A recruits for plan A recruits. And if thats the case, why imbalance your recruiting class with a crooked # at one position, and failing to meet your goals at another? I'd rather have balance within a class than get "connections" in Texas. But thats my preference.

If anything, I say keep it at 5 DL commits. We've probably got enough oomf from this group at DL to move one or two of the converted OLineman back if we wanted. So I say mission accomplished, grab Ethan Johnson and don't look back.

agreed, but in the new 3-4 system, it will be very important to have the reserves on the D-line and LB positions and give guys breathers. We are pretty thin on quality talent at these positions right now, so why turn away quality talent. If we can get 25 high quality guys this year, worry about the numbers next year. We have great depth at the o-line and RB right now.

WRs and D-line, in my opinion anyway, are hightly important right now.

I was also thinking that getting a recruit out of Texas would help in further recruiting. It seems as CW has pulled a guy or two out of Florida or Cali he gets even more out of that state now. The same could be said for other areas of national recruiting.

Agreed. EJ could potentially end 08 recruiting on the D line and O line. We're likely to move Nuss, Nwankwo and Stewart back to offense. So, with Ian Williams last year, along with Omar Hunter, Hafis Williams, Brandan Newman, Sean Cwynar (and hopefully Ethan Johnson) we stand at 6 D lineman in the past two classes. I'd like to see it even out a bit more instead of getting 1 one year and 5 the next, but an average of three a year is a good thing.

If the above scenario plays out, we'll be at 7 OL in the last two classes (Clelland, Golic, Cave this year, and Nwankwo, Nuss, Dever, and Romine last year) following the monster class of 06 when we had six (Young, Carufel, Wenger, Olsen, Webb and Stewart). That's 13 OL in 3 years. I'd like to see it balanced out a bit more at like 4 to 5 a year, but we could easily be finished. Unless a guy like Pachman decides to come on board, I wouldn't be upset if we closed out the OL and DL recruiting this year.

But, the Ethan Johnson commitment is the key, IMHO.
