Figured I'd throw this out there since he'll be on the menu this summer.

If you would like to know more about him, go to his personal recruiting / bio site here --> Trae Taylor

He's 15 years old for goodness sakes. It's amazing that he has already received so many offers already. Makes me wonder who the youngest kid was that received a committable offer.

Remember David Sills, the 13yr old who committed to Lane Kiffin when he was with SC?

when Lane was HC at Southern Cal he had an 8th grader commit at QB. Kid ended up as a WR at WVU.

He lives in Lake in the Hills but attends Carmel of Mundelein. It's a commute but within the rules. His dad J.R. was RB at Eastern Illinois during the Tony Romo Era there. Uncle Winston played LB at U of I.

This young man eats, drinks and sleeps football. Very dedicated player.

Holy crap! That's a hike. I'm in CL and it takes me at least 30 minutes to get to mundelein if there's no traffic.

Yeah, it's probably 45 minutes for him each day to get to school. There is not a very direct way to get from NE Kane County up into the Mundelein/Lake County area.

I believe he is in the part of LITH that would feed to Crystal Lake South rather than Jacobs or Huntley. Carmel's HC is former Chicago Bear Jason McKie. Rashied Davis and Olin Kreutz are also on his varsity staff there.

Woodstock. It’s where i would’ve thought a LITH kid would’ve gone.
Based on proximity to a Catholic HS, I guess, but Carmel has former Chicago Bears on their varsity coaching staff.

Trae Taylor is probably three miles from Crystal Lake South HS. Their best record in the last ten years is probably 6-5.

He's a very good student, but it's clear that they are very serious about the football element of his future.

We talked about this over in the JC Anderson profile:

Taylor's Dad is from Mt Zion where Anderson plays and former ND LB Gary Potempa's son (Dan) coaches. The Potempa's kids all went to Carmel. No idea if there's anything to this or it's just a kawinkidink.

He lives in Crystal Lake, School District 47. Not a football powerbed. Marian Central in Woodstock (Sean Cwynar) and Elgin St. Edward are both closer to CL than Carmel is by 20 minutes but not football powers either. It's probably a 45 minute commute to school from CL to Mundelein each day but is less than 30 miles door to door.

Carmel has all of those former Chicago Bears on the staff. There is no coincidence there.

Seems to me if you left a school out, there probably isn't that much interest. At least not yet.
