Also it’s confusing in that, if I didn’t know better, would think they are recruiting to an odd front. One body type the big end come 3 tech type. But… not enough war daddy nose tackle recruiting to be sure of this. Also seems like rush end they just aren’t going to recruit/pay for the ready made ones and use their projection eye for long tall lb’s that end up there. I am prattling but I am very curious about what the D-line ideal plan or model is meant to be

It sucks, but we have 4 quality DL commits in fold right now, with Reiff, Burgess, Dixon and Hulak.
Having to pull away from Shanklin and apparently Campbell sucks, but this notion that Washington isn't cutting it, when we just had a season where the DL was one of the top in the country and we landed a DL class of Bryce Young, Sean Sevillano, Cole Mullins and Loghan Thomas, is bizarre.

Staff had a lot of time to find 1-2 difference makers. Dixon & Burgess are 4 star caliber recruits with offers from the big dogs in CFB. Rieff and Hulak are solid depth guys that you need in any class. Would I have taken both that early? Idk, but it gives them the flexibility to not be fucked looking for a piece late in the cycle.

No ones giving him credit for having one of the best front 7’s last year? Two of the top DT’s plus getting them to come back? How back recruiting Oden here? If this is all he does, let's dump him and hire Brick. We get that and green hair to match the new uni's plus the satisfaction that he's bending over Duke on the reg.
I'm on record being an Al Washington fan, and I think he's done a good recruiting the edge both in the portal and high school ranks. I do want him to do better in the middle though. Dixon and Reiff are good pending Reiff growing into the position but I would like one more interior guy like a Jarquez Carter in this class. Burgess was a big win and I think he's a top 10 edge guy. Hulak seems like a reach and Sevillano I'm not big on. But he's definitely upgraded the edge with Burgess, Thomas, Young, Traore, Oben, and JJB. I also am excited to see the Dline this year with the new LBs, because I think they'll all benefit from having more talent on the 2nd level.

Regardless of whether or not Bryce would’ve gone to ND right away, we did a great job of evaluating him early and recruiting him. You can’t fault Washington for doing everything right with an ND recruit who just happens to have been inclined to go to ND anyways.

In Shanklin and Campbell, both "step backs" were the result of ND getting a hold of their transcripts.
