Anybody else feel like this recent swing of Bama transfers will play a massive role in who wins the next natty (or maybe two years from now)?

Keon, Proctor, Caleb Downs, etc - and I keep seeing the same schools mentioned often (Georgia, OSU, our name). Not unreasonable to think someone might get a few of these players.

I have zero current info in saying this, and the current situation they're in probably prevents it, but I'd actually think Michigan would be a front runner to land him because of his relationship with Elston, in normal circumstances. Not with this Harbaugh song and dance, though.

I got laughed at for a couple weeks ago for my question on the IB podcast "should ND reach out to Keon with Bama looking for a DE in the portal"
With the response that it's not happening and Keon is staying put... Jokes on those clowns.

Travaris Robinson (DB coach who moved to UGA) might have a lot of sway here if you believe the rumors
Would GA have room?

They have SIX Edge players rated 93 and above in last two classes. Wonder if OSU would be a destination.

Besides ND, who else was he high on? OSU and Florida, right? My OSU buddies probably think they've already got Keeley locked up if he does jump in the portal. They were certain they were flipping Viliamu-Asa too.

For all the good development that Saban has done for defensive recruits, I never understood the idea of putting Keeley at OLB.

Dude has a massive frame and was already pushing 250+. Instead, they have him drop weight to play LB, something he never did. Didn't help him that he also didn't show up until summer, so he lost out on spring and winter workouts.

But he is a big end for sure.

Bama runs a 3-4 so they'll have two OLB's that also function as edge defenders. No different than a Von Miller, TJ Watt, etc. Will Anderson was a "Jack" LB. I believe Dallas Turner plays the "Sam" LB. Those guys play "LB" but are really "edge" defenders.

Their "Ends" were Jaheim Oatis, 320 lbs. and Justin Eboige, 292 lbs.

Keeley had no chance of playing those roles anytime soon. He's much more of an "edge" defender or LB for them in that system.

Does ND ever take undergrad transfers??

I can't imagine any of his credits will transfer over.

They do, however, it's easiest when the player only has one year of school. The more school, the harder it is to accept unless it's a grad transfer.

The question is, how many ND “fans” messaged the kid or his family talking shit after he decommitted? Sure it left a lasting impression.

Ohio State Fans probably did the same. If a kid is truly that salty about Twitter responses, he’ll need to toughen up. Especially if he has aspirations of being a professional athlete.

Damn, IF he would enter the portal and come home to roost, where the heck are they going to fit everyone? I lost track but the Irish have to be well above 90 for next season as of now.
