Pete S seems to think he won't even play in the bowl game. Expects Estime, Alt, and Fisher to declare and not play.

What would really help is if the above players didn't play *** and *** Hartman didn't either. I would love to get a preview of Parker's offence when he doesn't have a stacked deck. Parker + an inexperienced QB = unmitigated disaster.

Maybe that would change MF's mind about his BFF.

Goolsby has been more right this year than I expected. He’s one of the few who didn’t think Hartman was that talented when he first transferred
Didn't he say that he thought Buchner was the better QB over Hartman.

Then Hartman proceeds to have one of the better statistical seasons a QB has had in the last 20 years.

I'm hoping Zaire gives it his blessing as well so that I know for certain.
Driskell and Davis are to announce their full support with this moronic decision once they figure out how to keep their website up and going.

Pre-Season 2023: "I just don't see where ND loses a game....."

Goolsby also said Longo was better than Balis, and Chevy is better than Audi.

Any chance that the title of this Thread jinxed us and War Daddy is now a permanent fixture at ND Football??

It's simply not apples to apples. Parker already proved he wasn't cut out for OC previously, having failed at WVU. Freeman had not only NOT failed as co-DC while at Purdue, he did well enough to earn the Cinci job. There was a reason to believe Freeman would get better as time went on. We can't point to a single data point on Parker's resume that suggests the same.
Don't shoot the messenger.

For every positive development we get in the transfer portal thread, I get an equal share of worry that the player simply won’t get properly utilized because of He Who Must Not Be Named.

If we lost 3 games, largely due to play calling, with Hartman, Estime, and a stellar defense (3.5 if you count Duke - we really did get lucky there), I really do wonder how low our ceiling is with this guy at the helms, and what people could possibly see in him to justify keeping him.

Only 2 play actions in a single game (Clemson)? When we have a significant running game threat coupled with Hartman? Are you kidding me?

BuT tHeY PlAyEd MaN… I don’t give a shit. You do it more than twice, because the LBs can still be caught cheating. This is pop warner level stuff.

So Marcus is OK with firing Chansi Stuckey, but not Parker because continuity matters?

*Shakes damn head*
These aren't even remotely the same and you know it.

Parker is the architect of the offense and Chansi recruits and runs WR drills. Position coaches can be swapped and a 'system' maintained. I'm not going to bat for Parker, I'm just pointing out that Marcus isn't being hypocritical with this and I think it's really unfair to suggest as much just because we aren't happy with Parker's production.

If Parker is an architect his house is collapsing from poor structural support, and he chose suboptimal materials where it mattered most.

More likely its a "Passing-the-Buck" type of mismanagement. War Daddy blamed the receiving corp / WR Room. I hope our recruits are solid because people love Chansi.

The one BOT guy I know was blaming the receiver room for the losses. Perhaps that is the talking points of the program.

Incredible.

Maybe the new OC wants to bring in his own WR coach? Or....is a WR coach?
Junior Adams and or JaMarcus Shephard would be WR coaches who could be OC. For Adams it is a lateral move as far as title. Shephard right now is AHC/PGC/WR at Washington and was last an OC at Purdue in 2021.

Marion could fill this role as well.

I like what Kevin Cummings has done in AZ as well. But like Junior Adams, they are West Coast guys.

Oh man, IF Parker has to stay on as co-OC in some capacity (shame), then I would LOVE to see us go get Shepherd and offer him co-OC, PGC, WR coach. I'm sure he'd be happy to double his current salary at UW.

He's at $800k currently, and if Grubb moves on to a head coaching job, DeBoer could promote Shepherd and get him to stay. Grubb is at $1.45M per year as it stands now.

If this is who Marcus wants, they'd better move quick. Like now. Even with this guy prepping for the Pac 12 Championship Friday night.

Plus he's from Indiana, no? This would make so much sense.

It makes sense only if OC or Co-OC is in his title at ND. Otherwise he's making a lateral move regardless of where he was born.

DeBoer may know already that Grubb is interviewing and or close to landing an HC job. They could be locking down Shephard so that when a Grubb move is finalized it's already a done deal.

Everything moves faster behind closed doors than we realize.
