Pete Carroll to the Redskins?

I have no info about this but thought it would be a good topic. Joe Gibbs has retired today and one of the likely candidates would have to be our boy Pete. Could it end that ugly dynasty in LA? Does anyone see this as a reality?

We'll Snyder does have the money to pay him. But I don't see Pete leaving unless he's mad the highest paid coach in the game. Snyder is dumb enough top do that.

if carroll was smart he would stay in the college ranks no matter the $$ or team. he took over for the patorits a year removed from the super bowl and went 27-21 over 3 seasons, and b4 that he went 6-10 with the jets after starting 6-2 and eventuly got shit canned. so one would think he would know his role by now

Very true, but most college head coaches tend to have an ego that doesn't necessarily allow them to realize that it might be best for them to stay in college.

Not going to happen. The poodle is a COLLEGE coach and a damn good one at that. He LOVES coaching in college and I highly doubt he will leave Usc to go to the Pros again. I just cant see this happening and Usc will come up with the money to keep him there as long as possible.

NFL teams have been bitten in the past trying to get college coaches to the NFL, i think most of them are trying to go with defensive or offensive coordinators from their own team, or other teams to fill head coaching positions.

yeah, it hasn't worked out lately for most coaches going from College to the NFL but what about guys like Jimmy Johnson.

IMO, no way Snyder gets the poodle - 1) Too many college coaches have burned the NFL lately by not being able to hack it (see falcols mistake - petrino and redskins last mistake - the ole ball coach spurrier) and 2) carroll has already prooven he can fail at the highest level, so he does not need to prove himself) :

The way the coaching changes have gone so far this yr. nothing would surprise me. But i don't think the poodle leaves for Washington.

Not only have college coaches burned NFL teams before... but it has already happened to the Red Skins themselves... I doubt they think far beyond Williams.

Chris Mortensen (sp?), the NFL guru, was on local sports talk here this morning in Altanta and stated Carroll wants to come back to the NFL..and there might be a bidding war between the Falcons and Redskins for Carroll, but Carroll wants a lot of control over player personal.
