Freeman post game- I have to look at the film I have to look at the film I have to look at the film …. Why? You not watching the game? Painfully obvious what the issues were and are

I've never understood fans who expect the coaches to say what they're privately thinking in a press conference. You want the emotional satisfaction of seeing a coach react, which is the opposite of what is required of a public-facing executive.

There are things to complain about, but this sort of petty ankle-biting is annoying. He doesn't owe you an emotional reaction. Or even a public answer at all.

What we will need from MF this offseason are decisive decisions about the future of the offense. I don't need to hear anything in a press conference at all.

crushing some teams and getting dick slapped by others shows enough potential to point the blame 90%+ at coaching/preparation

No, I want a coach that has a clue what to do. It’s not coach speak right now, he has no clue

Every loss it’s we have to watch tape and we didn’t execute. No shit Ray Charles can see that.

Flat out say it, we didn’t tackle well, the offense again didn’t play well, the play calling was good enough and I didn’t step in, we had 3 turnovers that’s why we lost

What were people expecting with a first time head coach? An NC in yr 2? Guy is learning and figuring out his staff. hopefully it speeds up going into next year.
All the ND analysts thought BK was holding us back… that the team will run through walls for Freeman, etc.

Never any discussion about lack of experience costing us Ws.

Why do you personally need to hear that from him?

Because there's a growing number of us who are starting to think he's simply not smart and has no idea what areas are killing us. He doesn't need to lay out the next week's gameplan, but be on point, you're losing your audience.

Normally wouldn’t but I think freeman believes issue really was only two plays and that nd played well

At some point he has to admit how bad our offensive is including prep and play calling and how bad tackling has been

He doesn’t have to single out players or coaches by name, but dj brown can’t play anymore

He’s now dropped 2 picks for osu resulting in 10 points

Misses 2 tackles vs Louisville giving up 14 points

And now a blown miss blitz assignment resulting in 7 points

he’s our biggest player issue on D in our losses

If Freeman sits down and ranks our coaches and position groups this season he will see it is basically in the same order as their level of experience. That should be enough to guide him:
Mickens, Golden, Deland, Washington, O'Leary, Rudolph, himself, Gino, Parker, Chansi.

Don't flatter yourself--you aren't his audience.

Marcus Freeman answers to the Athletic Director, the President, and the Board of Trustees.

He is not going to embarrass the university with a press conference tirade. I assure you he has been told the less he says at press conferences after losses the better.

Really? They told him to say we were spooked when our 6th year qb threw a pick 6? Or, I don’t want to single out players but the difference in the game was the pick 6 and muffed punt, we can’t do that.

He is clueless and thinks we hardly have any issues, just a little execution here or there

Bottom line, freeman has no clue and is allowing his staff to create all the game plans, prepare the team and call the game with minimal input from him because he doesn’t know what to do. Some of this staff is so inexperienced and clueless themselves. Blind leading blind on offense. Hartman getting a pat on back after his second pick, or tyree getting pat on back after all his return errors. They’re coaching this team so soft.

What did we change or learn from our first bye? Nothing, we just got lucky to play an awful pitt team first

That's the point. Who cares what he says in a press conference?

The test is whether he replaces GP and with whom.
He already had one bye to do it, now we’re in another. There is absolutely no reason now for Parker to continue calling plays

We could do worse and he did this at Wisconsin a team not exactly teeming with talent.

I was a sports reporter for nearly a decade. No coach or athlete has ever said anything insightful to a reporter on purpose after a game. Or really ever.
But only a few appear clueless… freeman is one of those. Don’t expect to learn everything at the PC, but also shouldn’t see a coach that doesn’t have a clue

You would be more persuasive if you didn't use hyperbole in every sentence.

I agree that they appear to be too soft. I don’t see a ton of accountability in this program. The seem more focused on making everyone comfortable and validated. It’s a double edged sword.

Just watched highlights of his press conference. I don't know what you are watching, but he doesn't sound clueless to me.

Yep, no one ever gets pulled for making mistake after mistake

Saw zeke out and thought, finally his play was bad enough to get yanked- nope concussion (hope he’s ok)

Brown went out for a series, but entire starting secondary went out

Faison made a few plays, let’s target him more… nah, ride or die with Tobias

Marist went out I thought because of how bad he was fitting, nah, needed a few plays off to get water
