I mean the guy has learned under Tressel Fickel and Kelly.

You'd think he'd have learned how to read his team and get them fired up when they are down.

It seems like he hasn't.

Tressel had an old school offense and that doesn’t really work today. You have to have some creativity and Parker doesn’t and Freeman doesn’t have the balls to tell him to get creative.

ND football at this point t is nothing more than a good average team.

Remember, Brian Kelly predicted Swarbrick and Jenkins would retire.

He also made another. He doubted that Freeman would be successful here as the head coach.

Kelly forced freeman to change his D after it sucked to start 21 … couldn’t change it enough though

Parker will hold Freeman back from being successful at ND.

With Hartman & his resume our offense should have an identity and it doesn't.

Next season will be more challenging only because of the experience at QB and a QB transfer guarantees nothing (look at this season).

I think Freeman MUST get rid of Parker

Freeman better wake the fuck up. He is gonna lose players to the portal that people are going to be upset about. He is going to lose at least 2 coaches and another one should be added but I am not sure Freeman can/will Fire Parker.

I'm starting to move beyond "fire Parker" and into "fire Freeman". This team is as loaded with depth and talent as any we've had.

But what's more, whenever MF speaks, unless it's motivational, he has nothing to say. He can't speak to good questions, can't give examples, can't see the offense through the trees. I'm not sure he's that football smart for a job like ND. He's really well spoken at the 30k foot level. Not sure he understands the 10k level.

Lost of deflecting to other coaches when Freeman is steering the ship

Agree, I’ve said this since he brought out that dumb D vs fsu… better exec than coach but right now team needs coaching

Our warm ups were so lack luster with no energy… that’s not a tell all but man it keeps showing up

Shocker here, going into locker before game tyree missed the punt
Again I think that’s because the ND season is over and nobody cares about none play off bowl games any more. I think they just will not get up for games like this from now on.

I’ve never been impressed with freeman at press conferences. Golden for example sounds like he knows football. Coming off BK who could talk details all day. Freeman last season often didn’t know the names of players.
I am with the others who say he just needs to get mean and ruthless and get the best offensive minds in that he can get.

Freeman is staying because the National Totle Mandate is not real at ND and the admin and many others like him as a person.

He is a great Top 20 Head Coach.

Agree that MF doesn’t know football like some successful HCs do. But, I honestly believe he doesn’t need to, he can just be a culture guy. A program can win that way. ND needs to purchase an offensive coaching staff. That is the answer imo, mercenary coaches everywhere.

What were people expecting with a first time head coach? An NC in yr 2? Guy is learning and figuring out his staff. hopefully it speeds up going into next year.
That is what the MAC is for, not ND

Kirby Smart nearly (should have) won a title in year 2. What are reasonable expectations?

What would show me that Marcus is learning is a clear indication from him that last year's offense was not good and should have been scrapped once Rees left. But then he hired Parker and talked about not changing much and how that was good for continuity.

Predictably, the offense is even worse now. If Freeman can't see the need for a full scale rebuild on O and start that now, he is showing me he isn't learning and may never learn. Even with Swarbrick sucking as an AD Marcus can and should do better.

I came here to say even Venables is learning and becoming a better coach.

Welp they lost to Oklahoma State
