if Nelson sticks with Nebraska then youd think ND takes both Cure and Flannagan in 2025 class

Agree, It's why i wasn't big on taking Larsen so early when we recruit the position so well lately. The fact we can't have BOTH Cure and Nelson due to having accepted Larsen so early is dissapointing.

Larsen has't grown or gotten any faster/quicker since his frosh/soph year. He's got good ball skills but he's undersized and not very fast, that's not what ND is doing and or needs.

Nelson, Cure, Flanigan are the TEs we should be getting at minimum 2 out of 3, not a MAX 2 out of 3.

TE roster is and will be strong, it just could be as good as ever if not better with those 3 and a potential SR, Raridon/Staes and JR Flanagan.

Larsen has nothing to do with why Nelson isn't coming lol.

If the staff feels that Larsen isn't worthy of a scholarship, they can push him out. They've done it before.

Exactly....... The take was that if Nelson comes (probably unlikely) we wouldn't take both cure and flanigan. It's probably why we waited to offer him late until staff now probably feels they don't get nelson. So the only guarantee out of larsen, flanigan, nelson, cure is larsen. The only one that's NOT a really good prospect is Larsen. We possibly could have had the 3 studs, instead we may get 2 out of 3 studs.

My point is we're hesitating on top prospects or a top prospect due to having a much lesser prospect committed. Numbers game.

In the end, the TE room is strong if we land cure and Flanigan

Marshall Pritchett has put together a great junior season so far. And he will fit the mold of that 6’5’’ 230 “big” slot TE.

The staff likes him as is continuing their evaluation. I see an offer coming but likely will wait until they know about Nelson.

You gotta go down to the wire with Nelson, chances are Cure will still be available in January or whenever, theres no rush getting him to commit yet

They’re in two different classes. The answer is always land both.
Well the large discussion on larsen was due to mutliple reports stating the numbers are taking 3 TEs in the 24 and 25 class combined, meaning Nelson or Cure not both. It was brought up by a few (definitely me) that it would stink if we could possibly land both nelson and cure but don't take both due to having larsen. I believe Nelson and Cure are significantly more talented than Larsen.

The saying “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink” is pretty fitting with Nelson
It’s hard to beat a school for a kid who isn’t choosing it because it’s his best path to the NFL or for winning at a high level.

ah sure look its Nebraska, you can't back down to a school like in a recruiting battle no matter what. They aren't Bama or UGA

I haven't seen anything that says they're backing down. I'm just saying he's more likely to pick Nebraska and it's not because they'll get him Big 10 and national championship rings and develop him into a Day 1 draft pick.

ND has led Carter to water, but if he doesn't drink it, it's not because ND backed down - they just got beat by a stronger pull than common sense. I wouldn't knock the staff for that L.

Guess he’s not picking it for education either lol

Hahaha ha

Did you think for a second that maybe, just maybe he doesn't want to go to ND? You know it's ok for kids to like other places and it's none of our business why right lol lol lol

Yeah it’s probably one of those tough decisions… do you follow your heart and team you grow up loving or making a business decision to go to second favorite that most likely will put you in a better spot for your goals
