And it won't be fixed next year. This is a systemic problem. Swarbrick hired a young inexperienced HC on the far gambit that charisma will carry the day. That Freeman will work for him in an easier manner than an experienced HC like Kelly.

Freeman is no Fickel. He won't make demands of Swarbrick, much less his staff. He is too amiable and not ambitious enough to take the true reigns of a program like Notre Dame at the age of 35 years old. The hire was an exercise in hopeful folly with zero track record for the decision.
How do you know this? Just by his press conferences? Are you in his staff or team meetings? His mantra has consistently been challenge everything. Just because he doesn't make himself look like an a**hole in front of the camera, doesn't mean he can't be tough on who he needs to be on.

His mantra is also one life one play, play to full potential, etc etc blah blah blah

I’m confident it’s not true, but he seems to be spending too much time with his PR coach instead of learning how to coach football

He doesn’t have to be open and honest, but the results speak for themselves… the team is significantly regressing … that’s not debatable, and all you need to know about his abilities or lack there of

So Jordan Faison should get promoted from PWO to scholarship. 2 catches as a freshman and a TD. Is he faster than the others?
Definitely quicker…

Hope freeman is asked why he didn’t play more when he’s clearly an improvement

Curious how much change freeman does for this week

If not this week then during bye, brown and zeke are on the bench

Marist role reduced significantly

Parker te coach

Gino and deland co OC

Payne relegated to mop up

Flores role reduced if healthy enough at wr

Faison playing a lot more

Hartman is given full audible ability

Love kr instead of ford

Some Changes I would make after this week. If we are 4-3.
1. Start playing Jaiden Ausberry I think he is exactly what we need at LB no idea why he isn't playing already he is our fastest LB.
2. Start playing some of the younger safeties because DJ Brown isn't it.
3. Get Love and Price more reps.
4. Get the freshman WR's more involved from what I saw Faison should be playing more.

Sneed is our fastest lb, but your point is valid… Bowen sneed ausberry if they’re the future need to play

Speed isn't Liafau's problem. He's all over the field. But he can't tackle and has zero football IQ. Speed may be JD's issue, but his Football IQ is off the charts. We need to play the young linebackers if they have a concept of the scheme and don't over pursue. If we over pursue Williams, it's last year all over again. Need to pay discipline while keeping him in the pocket.

Agree on Love and Price. Estime has not been getting it done. I said it before, he's a small back in a big backs body at the line. Once he gets to the second level, he's a nightmare. But at the line, he doesn't push for the really hard years. He can't create 5 yards out of 2 or 3 yards out of zero.

I was at the game. While the team looked physically and mentally tired, it could very well of had a different outcome if Tyree catches that TD pass. IMO, this all boils down to one thing and it isn't MF. It's Parker's play calling. Trying to continually run up the middle against a stacked box or throwing medium to deep routes against pressure isn't going to win games. Parker needs to include some outside runs and short passes to keep the pressure off and open things up. Maybe a reverse, screen pass or a QB run?

This seems staggeringly obvious to anyone with even a basic grasp of football. Why not to our offensive coordinator?

From message boards to writers like Jaime U. We all can see it.

Sure, but freeman knows what parker is doing and isn't or hasn't changed anything now for 3 weeks. It's painfully obvious why it's not working and what would be much better options (there are many to be creative with). If you can't self scout how bad our PAs are, how many easy tells we have on what type of play we're running, then this staff is even more clueless than I think. If you can't understand having more blockers in the backfield puts you against more defenders then again, incompetence. If you can't see what plays are working vs ones that aren't by now, moronic.

Freeman hired an inexperienced, terrible OC, and it's getting worse. That tells me one of 2 things, freeman hasn't stepped in to help and ensure we have a good game plan, and play calls, or freeman has stepped in and is just as clueless offensively as Parker. Either way, it's not good. With our talent, there's no excuse to be this bad offensively even with a bad OC, there's enough coaches and a HC to help out if they're competent.

Parker is so bad, he actually knows we should use mis direction now, but does it on 3rd and short vs a 10 man box that's shooting every frichan gap.

While you can probably get a lot of buy-in from fans on these suggestions, I’d say very few if any come to fruition in one week. MF is going to double down on GP until the bye week but it’ll just be a band aid like when they replaced BVG far too late in the 2016 season.

Yep i get it's tough to make huge changes this week, but no clue how you can play brown or zeke. Marist does some good things, but also isn't really a lb mentally.

You hate to put this task on a freshman's shoulders, but I wonder if you could try him out there this week with the assignment to "spy" Caleb Williams.

Does he thought? I mean enough to outweigh the negatives. Even w/o the face mask penalty, he still tackles like an ND corner. I think he got credit for a tackle that Sneed blew up b/c Marist got turned around & walked into the tackle. I’ve never seen fans & media defend a guy so incapable of fundamentals this deep into this tenure.

He was best player on the field first half vs duke, so he has that potential.

He's not playing bad enough to say absolutely pull him completely, i said i'd prefer he plays a lot less, but still warrants playing until someone shows they can do better.

On the other hand, DJ Brown is playing so bad, you just have to bench him for anyone, i think henderson is bad, but might as well play him. Carter is the one that needs to get up to speed fast.

Marist did an excellent job spying Duke’s QB so he didn’t hurt us much with his legs. I feel like he did with NC State’s guy too.
That’s an enormous risk with Caleb Williams and not sure I want to turn that job over to a freshman with so little experience.
Marist is a lousy tackler though, I’d agree, and makes too many mistakes for a guy of his experience. And I’m generally ready to move on to the younger LBs. Maybe after we play the best offense we’ll see all year?

In the first half. Duke made a smart adjustment and countered by having a linemen specifically block Marist and Leonard had a couple good runs in the second half. Like normal, we never adjust to a teams adjustments.

Where do you think they witness it? Lol
How many practices have you been to?
I've been to 1 over last 2 years, and i've been to 2 games now this year.

My point is, he doesn't play fast on the field. Sneed plays significantly faster, so much so he over runs plays and needs to get more in control.

We aren't competitive in NIL
We aren't competitive in transfer market
We aren't competitive with coaching salaries
We maintain our "academic standards"

It is what it is guys. Accept the reality of a mediocre football program moving forward.

I realize he had a pile against Navy but it is notable that Kiser has more tackles than Liufau in half the snaps.

I forgot 1st round Kiser was even on team. Hasn't made a play all year despite apparently being super smart and a combine freak.

Would you just STFU about this. You are relentless. Every stinking day you post crap on Kiser. We get it. This is the reason people don't like you.
