Won't cost taxpayers a dime eh?

I'm curious to know if this is going to be met with questions let alone resistance.
If that is how they are selling it, that is just flat wrong.

If they cut the project in half, could there possibly be a reduction to the rate. Is there a better use of these funds (of course there is) that the taxpayers are paying?

If a governmental unit is spending 20 million dollars every year on crappy projects and they propose a budget for the following year showing they will be spending 20 million on gold plated port-a-johns and tell Joe Tax Payer ...... "Don't worry, it's not really costing you anything extra"..... It's still a "crappy" use of funds.

There is an opportunity cost for each dollar that is spent. There should be an obligation by the school district to spend my tax dollars wisely. If I lived in that district, I wouldn't necessarily say the project shouldn't be done at all, but would probably challenge the district to scale back the project.

"It's a bond issue."- People who want big stadium. My HS Alma Mater spent 70 mil on their Texas football palace. Prosper is just keeping up with the neighbors. Prosper was like a diner and a gas station 20 years ago.

They voted for Fetterman and this. Let them figure it out.

We have offices in Joshua and Waco Texas. The first time I went down to Joshua I drove through several towns and was amazed to see how big the HS stadiums are. Especially when the stadium holds about 5-10X the towns population.

I wonder what it's going to take for these cities to do an about face?
I mean this seems to be a national problem. Saying otherwise is being disingenuous. There’s all kinds of insane crime, opioid zombies and abject poverty in “red states”. If you look at violent crime statistics per capita on the county level a lot of counties in “red states” rank pretty high.

Yeah...the Independent.

While the opioid epidemic knows no boundaries, not to mention poverty, you'll still find more violent crime per capita in the metropolitan areas. You can take a look at any state map and see the concentrations are generally the heaviest around larger cities, and these counties tend to vote blue:

Sure there is. We have a meth problem all over the country, but were not seeing the same things happen all the time. The difference is, that the cities mentioned have taken the approach of basically letting the people govern themselves. They wanted to defund the police. They let the rioters burn their cities and steal everything they could get their hands on.

Or is it an urban problem? Not many small towns defunding police and voting in Soros backed DAs. 2X as likely to be a victim in an urban community as a rural. Urban areas are typically governed by people who thought it was a good idea to paint defund the police on the sidewalk and have DAs that aren’t into consequences.

Also- look at places like St. Louis, which are in a red state, but defunded police and are controlled by crazy people. Hard to blame the red state for that.

The bay area has become Somalia.

Lmao. You've got a much higher chance of getting assaulted in Indianapolis or Dayton than San Fran. Can replace a car but can't replace a life. Also, the crime narrative push must mean an election is coming up. Damn, robberies peaked in 2019....hmmm.

Would love to hear what kind of programs Sloth et. al have that would help address homelessness since it's likely poor people committing these crimes.

Toronto says it isn’t real. Locals aren’t complaining. Must be fine. Chaos in San Fran is fine by me. Pirates are a fact of life.

I think people are letting San Francisco go to shit to suppress prices. No evidence, just my conspiracy theory.

Crime is real? That Right wing MSM hate machine will cling to the crime narrative every election cycle. Can't wait to see what caravan starts to accumulate in Mexico city on it's way up.

I don't know why people who've never considered San Fran to be a good place are now faux outraging all over the place cuz crim!!11!

Is the only evidence supposed to be collected from pubs and corner stores where tales are passed along about the happenings of somewhere? "Judy down at the Buccees was saying San Fran is a shithole" "There it is Bertha, we're never leaving the utopia of Dayton to go down to that cesspool in California".

*San Fran's own police force puts out numbers*

SO YOU"RE SAYING THE LOCALS ARE LYING?! lmao

I’m not saying the locals are lying- you are.
Where else do you have this high of a chance of being robbed or assaulted? Are the retailers closing stores here due to crime just playing election politics?

It has a great reputation.

Your faux outrage over "faux outrage" is comical. You like to use that term all the time. You keep that on the clip board for a quick copy & paste?

If you ask someone how awful crime is right after they're robbed then yes, they aren't going to answer on the crime in aggregate. Pretty simple stuff. You want to form opinions based on Jimmies and Janes experiences, by all means go ahead but serious adults don't make decisions on anecdotal stories.

Well, I don't have evidence onhand but I would strongly suggest based on my experience with many REIT's that brick and mortar is getting phased out. Closing stores based on "crime" is a lot easier to sell to the public and the markets than saying "yeah these stores aren't getting the same traffic so we need to close the store". Who knows, it's not like data is actually relied on in these parts.

I guess I'm not allowed to use the same buzzwords you guys like to throw around? Virtue signalling? Snowflake? Liberal tears?

I think I have a few more posts that you haven't chided in on, please hurry to that so you can cross them off your checklist. I hope it meets the standard you've come to provide "Wow, what a hard on you guys have" or something to that effect.

Toronto,
I assume you're okay with this?
Those guys are shit heels trying to stir up angst among the predictable targets by abusing a fillable form and ruining it for actual non-binary people. Why would you think I'm ok with that?

Here is an interesting article from a year ago about how San Francisco became a failed city.

I thought a couple of points about addicts and homeless from around the country flocking there because of all of the free services available to them were interesting. Also, these activists are getting them killed.

Because you're okay with trans men competing in women's athletics and ruining it for women? There is an intent by those competing just like there is an intent with those idiots that went to that job fair

Where did I say trans men competing with women? That is what you want. I don't care if it's transwomen competing with women.

As we've already gone through this is arguing about shark attacks and lightning strikes, so dare I say, this is overblown.

A lot of really fucked up stuff going on in the last ten years or so. The book banning is pretty high on top of the list for me personally.

Just for my information- are we talking about banning porn in schools and sex demonstrating materials with dildos, strap-ons, plugs, and same sex materials? Or is this worse?
