IB says he told ND the reason is his mom refuses to fly. She didn’t come on the OV for that reason.
IB says that sounds like a way for him to save face and they & ND don’t believe it.
Says the timing of the announcement took ND off guard because they thought they would have more time to talk to him about it.

Says Wingo has been talking to ND the past few weeks & they are trying to set up a visit.

I never thought he was that good and going to GT makes me think it could be we are recruiting over him. I think Stuckey we will an upgrade.

I personally thought Canion was underrated. I don't think the staff was recruiting over him

I would like to point out the fact that MIKE SINGER kind of called this. When Canion started getting other offers he mentioned it as a possibility but didn't know if the other schools would push for Canion. Somebody asked him last week about anybody possibly wavering and he said the class was all bought in but if there was a guy...possibly Canion, but he didn't think so.

Hard disagree.

Canion was very raw and needed work, but he was a guy moving up with crazy good physical tools.

If they manage to get Wingo to visit and land him though, hard to say that isn't an upgrade.

A lot of people were saying this was a possibility, but I don't think these people were thinking Georgia f*cking Tech of all schools would be the one ND loses out for him.

ND definitely isn’t recruiting over him. They liked him more then Wingo.

I’m not sure why you thought he wasn’t that good? Georgia is pushing for him. GT is just because it’s close to home.

Canion is really good.

This wasn’t the case.
After losing out on Nelson they were looking at Wingo as the 4th WR.
Canion was a top 100 player on one service & just got his 4th Star on another.
ND thought very highly of him.

Singer, who is in Atlanta?, Isn't the only person who predicted this. Loy and Driskell (other probably)have always said that with him in SEC country, underappreciated, things could get interesting if the SEC comes knocking.

I don't think anyone predicted GT being a factor, but still a similar idea with distance obviously
