I agree that it has to be best to have the last visit. Kids are so impressionable and the last impression is all the remember it seems sometimes
And when I said last week he most likely goes to USC I was told they aren’t even an option check his social media it’s all USCQuick note.
IB talked to sources & was told this is a ND/USC battle.
ND isn’t as confident as they were last week.
KVA is getting pushed hard to stay home & play at USC by his friends, teammates & coaches.
His parents are pro ND.
He is really torn.
Hasn’t made a decision yet.
That had nothing to do with it.And when I said last week he most likely goes to USC I was told they aren’t even an option check his social media it’s all USC
This will always be another factor against ND landing elite classes. Recruiting nationally is very tough. That had nothing to do with it.
Coming out of his ND visit he had ND #1 (which was after his USC visit).
But the past few days his pro-USC camp has been hammering him about not going to ND & staying home.
Starting to sound like that RB from Clemson.Quick note.

Nah, get Amir Carlisle in the phone. Went to USC over ND, then transferred to ND. I believe he now works at ND also.Beat OSU & USC this year! I think this year's USC game will be similar to the 2017 USC game.
Didn't KVA take his family on his ND visit & I thought mom was impressed??
Get Manti and Jaylon on the phone & MF needs to take this recruitment over.
Not sure I like the timing of this notion. Seems like a final gesture, if not, why not use this as part of your announcement.
Feels like the old "gave me something to think about".
Truth. Winning rarely hurts when a prospect is torn. There are a few recruitments that could benefit from winning on the field. This would be one. I think if Freeman and company can prove we are playing equal football to the OSU, Clemson, and USC's of the world. Then we might be able to shake things up towards the end of the cycle.

It seems to me as I get older and wiser (maybe not so wise), that difficult choices have become a bit easier. To me, if you’re agonizing that much between local Lincoln Riley led USC and far away Notre Dame, then the silver lining lies within the indecision to stay home. Unbiased, 10 out of 10 times, that means you should take the chance your heart won’t let go of and go to the away school. Maybe I’m a biased fool.
I disagree regarding KVA's recruitment. This seems to be boiling down to leaving home against peer pressure. Besides, USC needed a Heisman QB to not go 7-5. Riley may turn it around, but currently, they aren't good. They don't deserve to be in the list of OSU and Clemsons of the world.
I agree. I think this is a situation where the kid and his family are thinking ND may be the best choice, but USC is the easy choice.
Lucky- I agree with your statement. The board seems to have more posters that think this recruitment is over. I don't think this one is over, I don't think he has made up his mind. The wildcard here to me is how does Freeman close on this, he landed Sneed when he was ND's DC and Freeman will recruit his butt off on KVA's recruitment. Clemson is going to be out for revenge vs. ND, ND needs to be out for revenge vs. OSU & USC.There are a few recruitments that could benefit from winning on the field. This would be one. First of all, what if he chooses OSU over ND? He'll be leaving home against that peer pressure but not to ND. In order for ND to continue to land more guys out of regions like the West, South, etc, that can survive at ND, they have to win more big games. Virtually unanimous that USC is considered a big game for next season.I disagree regarding KVA's recruitment. This seems to be boiling down to leaving home against peer pressure. Whether or not a handful of ND football fans think USC is as good as those teams is completely irrelevant. Most of the college football world does. Likely most HS kids that play football in Arizona, Nevada, Texas, and California do. Likely KVA's HS teammates, his coaches, etc.
They're a pre-season top 5 team, return the Heisman winner, have a very high profile coaching staff, and are our biggest rival. This is a big fucking deal.
It's also a team that just walloped the piss out of us last year while finishing 10 spots above us in FEI rankings and 20 spots above us in S&P+. Beating USC was taken for granted near the end of Kelly's tenure. It's going to be a huge game annually from here on out.
I tend to agree with this.I was responding to the recent posts that have suggested this is coming down to ND vs USC, so that's why I left OSU completely out of my post.
It took a night, home game with a Heisman-like effort from the Heisman trophy winner, tons of injuries to ND's secondary, ND's DC completely shitting the bed for that game, and ND having the worst QB ever for USC to win that game by 11 points. Hardly "walloping the piss out of us."
I'll concede and agree with you that USC should be good this coming year...because of their QB. But most of the college football world does not feel that USC belongs anywhere near the tier that OSU and Clemson recently. One year, with a Heisman QB, does not suddenly put you on par with those teams who have been elite year in and year out for a while now. Could USC become elite once again under Riley? Yes, they absolutely can. But I completely disagree that USC somehow belongs with OSU and Clemson just because of Caleb Williams and a pre-season Top 5 ranking. ND has far outperformed USC over the last decade and no one is putting ND on par with OSU and Clemson sooo...
Yes, rivalry games are big games regardless of how up or down the respective programs are. USC being good is good for ND and this rivalry. No question. And I agree winning was taken for granted under BK.....because they were a trash program! That's my point. Without Williams, ND would've won last year too.
Winning big games will always help with perception and recruiting. I'm not arguing that. I'm simply saying that with KVA, it doesn't seem that one game result is going to sway him. If it's truly ND vs USC, it's probably coming down to whether or not he wants to leave home against all the peer pressure and not because of the result on the field for a game this season.
The worst way to make a point is to say well if it wasn’t for such and such, this or that, frick and frack, or smick and smack we would’ve won.
We were actually down by double digits almost the entire game. After 8 minutes into the game they were up 10-0. We only closed it to less than double digits for 4 minutes after that. Second half started 17-7, 24-7, 24-14, 31-14, 31-21, 38-21, 38-27. That is not a competitive game in the slightest. But, yes, if you excuse away every valid reason why they beat us I understand how you reach a different conclusion.
KVA and other big time recruits do not care about what happened in 2018. They care about now. They care about next year. They care about recruiting classes, swag, drip, and winning.
This is a huge game with, likely, national implications for rankings and recruits.
