BK is so many different things: some good, some bad and some extremely obnoxious. But he was, and is a very good coach.

Overall, they have good content, but man, Driskell has this smug, superiority football complex that will even rear its ugly head in conversation with his co-hosts. I just can't give guy's like that money / business.

He got his start with Mike Frank at ISD.
Then he went to BGI which got him close with Lou Somogyi, who is the GOAT.
He also is friendly with Prister & O’Malley.
So he got in the door that way.
When he started his own site he is under the SI umbrella, which gets him media credentials.
A lot of his contacts are with patents. He befriends parents of players & recruits & gets a lot of inside info through them. He also usually will have someone, & it changes over the years, on the ND staff who feeds him info. The ND staff needs people like him and others to exchange info with. For example, during the dead periods when coaches can’t talk to recruits at all, Driskell can. So he can talk to a recruit and update the contact at ND. He, and others, can keep the coaches up to date on what other teams are saying to recruits.
So the site insiders & ND staff use each other.

Whatever makes you feel better. I caution the ND Holier Than Thou mentality though. The way the handles Sedric Irvins Jr and Owen Wafle is not something that is the hallmark of a straight shooters coaching staff. And frankly in retrospect the renting a Ferrari for courting an SEC running back was a dumb move in that vein as well. But hey MF tried something new. But the juxtaposition of a Ferrari on the ND campus and in South Bend is something isn't it?

Frankly I am under no illusions that ND is actually competing for a Natty any more than when Kelly was around - and really less so after how the Admin and Staff handled the off season. So if ND isn't going to play the games that the elite programs are playing- then don't yank scholarships from players the program has previously committed to.

Irvin was offered, recruited & committed to different coaches.
ND staff was honest with him when they took over.
Wafle was looking around & taking secret visits. Lied to ND staff about it.
Nickel was told he could stay, but ND was recruiting two others who would play over him.
That happens every where, has always happened since the limit dropped to 85, and will always happen as long as it’s at 85, by every team.

Driskell's own intel was contrary to above regarding Wafle. The staff was looking to move on from their own commitment- and they did so.

I would love to know the falling out between him and Mike Frank, sounds like something went really wrong there.

This is such an old story. BK moved on and ND and its fans should move on. Kelly was a very good HC for ND but didn't win the big games but he got a heck of a lot out of his recruits. The loss of big games is an okay critique but most of the games ND wasn't favored so those beg games were not upset losses, either. But in terms of consistency, MF will be challenged to do same - hopefully he can get us consistently double digit wins like Kelly did.

But for the Kelly haters, the LSU Administration didn't agree with their assessments and second guessing BK and they paid him the big bucks. But unlike ND where Kelly could have stayed forever because the ND Administration is NOT committed to winning a Natty, LSU will have Kelly on the clock to be the 4th HC in a row to deliver a Natty. LSU won't mess around if Kelly is around for year 4 of his crazy contract without a Natty. The 2024/2025 he will be feeling the heat if he isn't in the CFP Finals or win a Natty. If he is smart, he has a massive buyout clause in his LSU contract - and I think he is smart.

It was probably something really fucking stupid. Our understanding is Driskell was asking BK about his offense or defense after on of Kelly's stupid losses and BK replied to the effect: "Thats not how we do things here." - the kind of pompous snap he and MANY OTHER HCs (i.e. Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh) give regularly to reporters....most reports chuckle and move on - instead a special fellow turns the slight into a declaration of a Jihad.

Frankly some of these ND Analysts and reports who are thinned skinned should look at some of Bama's Pressers.....LOL

I was talking about Driscoll and Mike Frank. I heard that back and forth between BK and BD. It’s funny how petty some people can be.

Have been avoiding IB shows this week since Vince keeps appearing. That guy is awful I can deal with a lot but he needs to stay away from the intel podcasts and stick to his night show I can happily avoid

I would love to know the listening numbers between the two podcasts. If Hit & Hustle hasn't passed Mike's show yet, they will. He is a business owner and has to see those numbers. Wonder if he realizes what the problem is...

Yeah, I turned it on yesterday just because I knew Prescod was going public & I thought they might have him on, but then heard Vince start cackling & instantly regretted it. I made it about 20 minutes when they went on their rant then I turned it off.
I will go back on YouTube & fast forward to any intel pieces they might have.

I enjoy listening to Mike Frank and Yama. They seem to me to tell it like it is, without any disrespect towards anyone.

When I was an ISD member I enjoyed reading Frank’s postgame commentary. It really was coming from a passionate fan’s perspective. Listening to him is just painful
