Urban Meyer and his band is dogged in their efforts to decommit a recruit. Last year, not only did Florida recruits go after Justin Trattau, but Greg Mattison and the other assistants constantly hawkied Justin at the AA game. It was interesting to watch Justin act as the spokesperson for the ND group on television to realize in retrospect that the other ND players knew that Florida was actively recruiting Justin to leave ND.

Omar's upside is even greater than his current play. When he adds more strength in Coach Mendoza's program, Omar is going to be very special. We have some very strong linemen in Brandon Newman and Lane Clelland to set the tone for this tremendous class in the strength program. There is nothing like working out with the guys getting that groove on, bending bars and pushing the limits.

Several teams will pound Omar to decommit. But what has changed is the DC. Corwin is the real deal. NO one can deny his development of players and an NFL defense. Corwin and the defensive staff are shaping the defense into a unit. I expect our defense to look more and more like an NFL unit in the next two years.

The play of our defensive line was very good in its first year of installation. We will play a four/three in the three/four scheme. (We need a weakside end from the big three we are currently recruiting - Perry, Jones, and Lewis Moore). We have some stars on the rise in Pat Kuntz and Ian Williams and stars in the making.

I am not trying to beat a dead horse. But can someone give me a link(IrishKnight) or a qoute from OMAR AFTER THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME stating that he is ND and no visit is happening. I have read what site mods have said but I have not seen anything from OMAR himself.

I'm not doubting that Omar is 100% ND. I'm just stating what Florida has done in the past. Florida recently visted with Chauncey Aghayere who is committed to LSU. They weren't successful but the gators don't stop.

Florida and USC are really going to start to get desperate. They aren't looking so hot with the few big names that are left out there. Especially USC. They have always banked on getting the best of the best and now that the cards haven't fallen their way they are really screwed because they don't have any really solid backup plans. Expect them to turn up the poaching to a new level.

Just read on Irish Eyes that no visit to Florida is happening. Mike Frank got the info from Omar himself when this rumor first came out.

This turned out to be untrue. Apparently one of his sources told him that. From what I can tell any possible news about a visit is still up in the air. I haven't personally seen the stuff from BGI so I'm not sure how they worded it, or if they directly spoke to Omar. From what I've seen the ND coaching staff have seen the reports and are already looking into it and Pete Sampson has said he/they (II) will have a yes or no anwser very soon, so just stay tuned and try not to freak out.

As I have said before, the next 45 days will send some of you to the grave. The rumor mill and all the last ditch efforts by the slime at UF will drive us all crazy. Just know this. Omar has been a total stand up kid in his commitment to this point. He has stated many times that he is ND 100%. Other than signing the letter of intent, he can do no more. We also should know that CW and his staff have not taken anyone for granted, especially the likes of Omar. They will continue to be in contact and show the ND love. So, relax because there is absolutely ZERO that we can do besides keep a positive mood around here. IF and I mean a huge if, but if for some reason the slime at UF are able to steal away Omar, there is nothing more that CW and Corwin could have done to hold him. We got on him early and often. We showed love throughout. I seriously doubt that Urbie will be able to get to Omar. He appears strong in his conviction to the Irish. Go OMAR, we love you in Irish land!!!
